He is shot and finished, his friends and family should tell him that. absolutely. unless he can change his style and not always rush in; develop a D, move his head and not be hit so much; stay in the gym and not balloon in weight between fights; fight at 135, or at most 140; and do this all this in the next year. imo, yes he should. you can't be expected to shed the amount of weight he has to meet the limit and not expect it to catch up with you. He's been doing this for years now and it finally caught up with against Pac. That KO was truly devastating, go back and look at the pictures when he was put on his side, he was seriously hurt.
