If Mosley couldn't beat Cotto, what makes people think Pac can? Mosely is stronger and just as fast as Pac, yet he had his hands full with Cotto. People can debate the outcome of Cotto/Mosley but everyone can agree that it was a close fight. What does Pac bring to the table that Mosley didn't?
My older brother didn't stop growing untill 23. Everytime he'd come from Iraq on vacation, we'd be back and forth on being taller then one another. It's stupid to say Cotto will lose to a former 106 pounder when Pacquiao was 16, Mayweather was 106 at 16 also.
Pullcounter's agenda is to discredit Cotto's possible win. It's as clear as daylight to see.
Yeah, he's one of those what we call...closet Cotto haters...maybe doesn't really hate him, more like dislikes him. He edited Cotto's jab count out and tries to downplay it like it didn't matter. Also Cotto's overall punch stats were more accurate, by 101.
His jab played a very important role in that fight, timing Mosely and throwing him of his game. Cotto jabs=98, Mosely jabs=71. Good example is a well timed jab from Cotto knocked a never before kd baddass, iron chin Clottey for the 1st time.
Mayweather has been outweighed by bigger margins.
but floyd has better defense
Quicker feet, stamina, more consistent, better combination puncher. Also Cotto doesn't have a Mayweather/ JMM-Like straight right hand and Pacquiao isn't far behind in power. Pacquiao has more then enough to win, reason why I agree with Cotto being the underdog.
it won't be enough... pac has gone too far up in weight
Quintana beat Paul. Duran beat SRL. Mayweather beat Corrales. Haye recently beat Valuev. Welcome to Boxing?
pbf beat jmm, hagler beat hearns, pryor beat arguello, sanchez beat gomez, and on and on... for every example you have, I can match you if not beat you, that' why they say: "a good big man beats a good little man"
No he hasn't, rarely does. And again, Pacquiao isn't that much smaller.
so what does that mean? means: pac is too small.
Pac aint proven at WW, we dont know if his speed and punching power will be effective against a real WW! How can people forget that Marquez gave Pac all he could handle yet now he's a world beater because of a legit win against Hatton and a bullsh*t win against a weight drained Oscar.
Pac is a media darling so people are overlooking the obvious, which is the fact that Pac has never faced a fighter as good as Cotto.
Pac's a good dude but I think Cotto is gonna
1) you kidding me? cotto will be 10+ lbs bigger than pac on fight night.
Mayweather has been outweighed by bigger margins.
2) only advantage pac has is speed

3) cotto should win, he's the bigger guy
Quintana beat Paul. Duran beat SRL. Mayweather beat Corrales. Haye recently beat Valuev. Welcome to Boxing?
4) pac's been beating bigger opponents, but at WW he's gone one division too far
No he hasn't, rarely does. And again, Pacquiao isn't that much smaller.
Cotto was faster then Shane in their bout. Pacquiao is noticeably faster then Shane, more consistent, way better stamina, very quick feet (Where as Shane doesn't have his legs anymore), better combination puncher. Two completely different boxers and stylistically Paquiao poses the bigger threat.
1) cotto was not faster, but he has better timing
2) pac and ssm have about the same speed, same stamina
3) pac has better movement and is a better combination puncher
4) pac stylistically does pose a bigger threat, but pac is too small to hurt cotto.
all points lead too a cotto victory.
Cotto isn't that much bigger, size isn't gonna be the only factor. Pacquiao has more of the advantages and should win in my opinion. Most ATG's have faced bigger opponents, Pacquiao should win; dude has the tools.

Why is the thread so stupid? You can say styles make fights all you want but the bottom line is Mosely presented a bigger challenge to Cotto than Pac does. It makes sense that if Cotto can handle a strong, fast Mosely then he can handle the less physically imposing Pac. Just trying to point out that Pac aint bringing nothing that Cotto aint seen before. Pac on the other hand has never fought anyone like Cotto.

you are so full of shit. I was rooting for Mosley in that fight and he lost.
liar... you wasn't rooting for mosley
Even he'll admit he lost.
link or it never happened.
Yeah, Mosley is better now that he's 2 years older then he was then.
 you are such a hater.
then how did mosley destroy margo while cotto was forced to quit?
yes, but pac isn't a legit WW... floyd is a legit WW.
he shouldn't be

Because that was the same crappy version of Mosley that went on to struggle against Ricardo Mayorga. Mosley is better now with Nazim Richardson, and I don't really use that as a gauge for this fight. That version of Mosley is better than the last three opponents that Pac have fought though. I'm not denying that.
That's a stupid post. Cotto lost to a bum then.

Doesn't change the fact that Pacquiao's body has grown alot since, as did Mayweather's.
yes, but pac isn't a legit WW... floyd is a legit WW.
Cotto is the underdog.
he shouldn't be
agreed... but that doesn't make the fact that pac was a 106 lber not true.
Doesn't change the fact that Pacquiao's body has grown alot since, as did Mayweather's.
what? cotto's supposed to win.
Cotto is the underdog.
The point is the body is still growing during/ after the age of 16. Significantly growing. We're not talking about who went pro or who didn't.
agreed... but that doesn't make the fact that pac was a 106 lber not true.
hence u mention it every post?
c'mon... every cotto/pac thread is a rehash of old arguments. I'm just not creative enough to come up with 100 different ways to say it.
Pullcounter's agenda is to discredit Cotto's possible win. It's as clear as daylight to see.

for real damn...its annoying everytime thats mentioned...as if pacquiao's body stayed at that weight

hence "former" 106 lber and not "current" 106 lber.
Yeah, Pacquiao weighed 106 at the age of 16 as did Mayweather :fing02:
pac was pro at 16... floyd wasn't... but that's not the point... the point is that pac is too small for cotto
