Haye v Valuev musta been the worst title fight within my memory.. How can Haye be awarded the victory when he ran away all night... at most Haye landed 10 punches, at most Valuev landed 10 punches, but how can a challenger who runs and refuses to engage in a boxing match be `gifted` the Heavyweight belt.... To beat a champion you have to take the belt from him, David Haye did not do that,
you clearly were outta youre mind during the fight, thats why i dont smoke or drink, by the way fukk floyd and his next low notch opponent kendall holt or peterson
I keep seeing your posts in here talking bollocks and changing the subject, you keep saying Haye ran, the fight was boring, so tell me then clever twat how would you have fought a guy a foot taller than you and a few stone heavier with a longer reach...
Actually Id pay to see you stand and trade with Val, that would make my day.
I actually found the fight quite intriguing, got a bit frustrated with haye felt he couldve got at Val earlier in the fight, but to say it was a robbery is pure bullshit, Val as usual looked like he wanted a fight but did nothing....
I had it 114-115 Valuev, but the rounds were so poor and hard to score i wouldnt argue the decision either way.
Im delighted with the result, but what a terrible fight.
Ahh, good old NSB where a close fight really means a robbery!
Frankly, I can't see how it was that close and I've watched the fight through three times now. At most I can give Valuev five rounds, but I consistently give him four. You can't win a round by just hitting air and plodding forward, especially if your opponent counters you with three or four serious power shots in the same round. Haye certainly should have had a higher workrate, but perhaps that would have led to stamina issues late on.
If you think it was a robbery then you don't have a clue about boxing and you should find yourself another sport. Valuev hit nothing by air with 95% of his shots and landed only one notable power shot. Haye executed a gameplan to near perfection and landed all the big shots. Only way to fight a man of Valuev's size and style.

so do you think valuve should of kept his title considring he didnt land any punches.come on honestly it wasnt a good fight but valuve done nothing to win the fight apart from walking forward and throwing a jab and hitting thin air.not sure if you know this but you dont get any points for doing that.
Do you like any British fighters? Are you pretending the be from the UK?
i am from the UK ... i dont rate the current crop of UK fighters very highly, David Haye aint to bad, But last night he was IMO terrible, he spent virtually the whole fight running away from a guy who cannot box (he was terrified).. did 46yrs old Holyfield run like Haye did?.... Holyfield engaged the Russian in a boxing match and was robbed of victory.. Haye proved nothing to me lastnight.. and like someone said earlier : The Klitschko`s must have been laughing their heads off at Haye`s performance.

you clearly do not know how to score a fight do you? Walking forwards and throwing punches that miss by miles and then getting punched by your opponent is not effective aggression. Also you just have to win more rounds than the champ, you do not have to "take the belt" that's simply nonsense as the fight is scored from round to round. Valuev is garbage let's face it, his size is as much a hindrance as an advantage.
sick of al this haye was running how did dirrell not win the fight when he used same tactics. Who on this forum would honestly stand and trade with a 7 foot 23 stone man? haye used tactics to stay out of range of valuevs jab so he couldnt set up the right had.
valuev was made to look slow. Boxing isnt about rushing in and tearing people apart its about ring craft using your skills to your advantage in order to get that W. TOO MANY ARMCHAIR CRITICS WHO JUST WANT TO SEE A TEAR-UP AND NOT A BOXING MATCH.
For a foreign fighter to go over to germany and get the decision against valuev is an achievement in its self whether its a title fight or not. Valuev should have lost to holyfield but the decision lies with the judges that's boxing.
As for the comparison to dirrell, looking at it through british specs i wanted froch to win but had the decision with dirrell, maybe if he clinched and winged less he might have got the nod.
I agree with what you say about boxing: using your skills to your own advantage.Haye knew to KEEP distance at all times,as did Dirrell. For Dirrell,he knew that Froch couldn't hit him with as much power if he smothered him or kept him at distance-and it worked,as Froch never hurt Dirrell. If Haye tried to smother Valuev,he would only wear himself down from the weight and size of Valuev.
I would say a defining similarity between these two fights is that Dirrell and Haye made their opponents fight to their own styles and pace, not at Valuev or Froch's style.
stop your bias... I am also a fan of David Haye, but i believe Valuev won 7-4 rounds going to the 11th round. David Haye was running around and valuev was pressing on, watch the tape closely and see who got hit the most prior to the 11th round - the face of david haye speaks for itself.
The face of David Haye at the end of the fight was probably because he fought in Germany and it's well known that people have gotten poor judges and decisions there.Sven Ottke made a career out of it there.
You can see that same face of concern anytime a fighter is in someone elses area of advantage in against a close fight.
Let me ask you something though-at the end of the fight, who looked more concerned and defeated,Valuev or Haye?
Apart from the last round,I didn't really see many rounds where one opponent dominated one another, but Haye certainly made Valuev look questionable as a champion. If Valuev could of thrown some hooks in the fight,he would have had success...
On a sidenote, was it just me or was it weird that in round 12 when David rocked Valuev, the ref seperated them shortly after? Almost like the ref didn't want anything more decisive....

Thats true, Haye won in a slightly more impressing fashion than Dirrell but you have to take into consideration that if the fight was in america Dirrell most likely would have won. However after how Dirrell fought and has fought before Im not really to bothered that he lost.
Haye has had ONE boring fight and that was last night. Haye was NOT boring against Barrett, Maccarinelli, Mormeck. But now offcourse all people will say Haye is a boring fighter hahaha.
Good point.Haye has really only had one fight where he had to fight in a style that is out of his norm.Dirrell fights evasively always.
Saying that,I had Dirrell up on his fight by a few rounds and would have to watch Haye's fight again (if I can sit through that). It is fair to say from my perspective that at the end of both fights,I felt Dirrell had won and was unsure if Haye had done enough (I wouldn't have called a Valuev win a robbery this time).
Nonetheless,at least we have a dynamic figure in the heavyweights.I really feel that the HW division has needed charismatic people to stir up the stagnant pot.At least Haye is normally explosive in the ring.I would like to see him against Adamek,Chambers or Arreola-they would all make good competition that is worth ppv dollars.I never get that same gratifacation with a Klitschko fight.
from what I heard, the people who bought the fight were the ones who really got robbed? any truth?
LOL you are right on that call-thank goodness for streaming!
ok who did you have winning Andre Dirrell or Carl Froch then? Because this was basicly the same type of fight, Haye won the same way Dirrell should have won.
But Haye didn't fall on his knees, cry to the ref and grab hold of Valuev every half a second.
If Dirrell had done his business without pussying around he would have got the decision, just as Haye did. Lesson learned.
As far as Wlad is concerned, if Haye hits him with the right hands he hit Valuev with the china chinned Wlad will be flat as a board.
