In all honesty is futile.....I'm not saying that Pac is invincible....but NO ONE RIGHT NOW can emulate Pacquiao's fighting style.....people say he's "one dimensional"....."he's reckless"....."he's too aggressive"...."same move everytime"......well.....if all the above were true...why is it when fighters get in the ring with ole Packy....his SPEED is the one thing that they all comment on. Power is easy to prepare for....(Pac is preparing for Cotto's power by sparring with JrMW/WWs). Preparing for speed is a totally different animal in itself....how many fighters in the world...let alone "sparring partners" have Elite level speed in a SOUTHPAW STANCE? None that come to mind right away......
In my humble opinion...the right preperation is the only way that you can defeat each other at the Elite level.....and Pac is preparing correctly becuase there fighters out there comparable to Cotto's power and his style. Cotto though....I'm sure is preparing to the best of his and his sparring partners abilities....but if your sparring partners can not properly emulate your opponent....how can you ensure that you'll be fighting THE PROPER FIGHT?
If strength is the "only" advantage that Cotto brings to the table...it'll be a long night.
Like many other's who have stated before...."If Cotto lets this fight go past the 6th round....it won't be looking good for him". I share that same outlook...If Cotto doesn't put Pacquiao away within the 1st half of the fight...his power advantage will mean nothing.
DISCUSS?
are those CHURROS on the side of that hamburger of your avatar? LOL
Hahahahaha! Naw homey....mini corn....gives ur burger a totally different "crunch" from lettuce...yet something sweet....no homo....try it.
Hahaha...wow that was real creative....
I'm only talking about what I am seeing with my own eyes....Cotto has the strength adavantage no if,ands or buts about it.....but if that power doesn't do anything for him in the early part of the fight...enough to make Manny change his gameplan....I don't see Cotto winning. Shit on Pacquiao all you want.....talk shit about his fan's (real fans...not Tards) all you want...in the end...if he losses...he'll still have this fan in his corner to root him on after this loss.

No, his hand speed hasn't been amazing at 147. There was a difference with Pacquiao weighing-in 148 for the Hatton and Oscar fight, and thats how he prepared for it. Pacquiao at 147 has to bulk up which causes him to lose speed, specifically his hand speed.
Don't get me wrong--Pacquiao has faster hand speed than Miguel but not by a wide margin at 147. It wont' be a factor in the fight.
However, Pacquiao's quick head movement and foot speed will be his greatest asset in the fight.
Umm....ok.
Valero?????? I honestly would've had Calderon....fastest southpaw on the planet next to Pac....even if Cotto wouldn't be able to touch him in sparring...it would get Cotto accustomed to the speed at which Pac would be at....although a lilttle slower than Claderon of course.....
Valero????? I still can't believe that...to prepare Cotto for what...a punching bag that will hit you back?
You obviously haven't seen Valero's sparring videos, he's a totally different animal. He made Erik Morales and Urbano Antillon look like amateurs. I don't know about his sparring session about Oscar were he gave Oscar a shiner, it's probably true because no one's denying it from Oscar's camp.
Valero's is like a Dr. Jekyell and Mr. Hyde kinda boxer, two totally different personalities and I blame it on his managers and handlers, who dangled some $$$ on him to get a 1st rd KO early in his career, apparently he can't seem to shrug that habit off...
Pac hasn't even been a full fledged 147 lb fighter yet. So your saying his handspeed at 140 (Hatton) isn't as "amazing" at 147 (DLH) / 145 (Cotto)?
I wouldn't say its gotten better...but it sure as hell hasn't diminshed....Pac was 138->148 for Hatton....and 142->148 for DLH.....so my question is....how is his handspeed not as amazing when he weighed the same for both his 140lb fight and his 147lb fight when he got into the ring?
Agreed that his footwork will be the 2nd biggest factor against Cotto...much like it was against Oscar....meaning "turning" him....

Obviously its hard to exactly mimick another fighter but Valero would be my choice of a sparring partner.

Since moving up 147--Pacquiao's hand speed is not amazing as it is at 140. It's very comparable to Cotto's. I'm dead serious here. Just watch the media workouts of the two and you'll see what I mean. Dont' look at Pacquiao's feet--it gives you a false impression.
Like I said in another thread--if Pacquiao's going to beat Cotto--it's because he'll use his fast feet to move in and out quickly and if Manny thinks he can brawl--he's going to get SCREWED. BIG TIME.

Are you going to rim Pacquiao too? Show him how much of a fan you are?
