He does train pretty well, but not from a P4P perspective. I mean half of the footage was playing golf, louning in the pool with friends and family, and having BBQs with hot dogs and all (something fighters should not be eating in camp).
We know what to expect from his sparring though. He is a very good pressure fighter, and a decent counter puncher.
Well yeah, but that wasn't the issue you raised in this thread.
Well what else are they going to show? He doesn't allow them to show his sparring. I'd also add that much of Pacquiao's part seems centered on other distractions as well. Both guys will be ready.

yup...i see more clownin around and loungin that anything...then when i do see 'training' i see it in halfspeed...and when they go over gameplans, his HEAD trainer is askin for advice....
He never asked for anything man. He was paying attention and Miguel Sr. was talking as he was observing. Santiago seemed to not even be listening to Sr., he was watching intently.
I don't have great faith in Santiago, but it's not like he was asking for advice.

I agree..
Though, when we are watching 24/7 keep in mind that we are seeing what HBO wants us to see
I'm pretty sure both fighters will be ready and in form

Yup, because there's no such thing as editing for TV let alone Cotto's camp not allowing camera men to film certain areas in the training.
If I was basing everything I saw on TV, I'd say Cotto looks a lot more focused than Pacquiao does and has a lot less distractions to deal with (but of course, since it's Manny Pacquiao it's cool).
LOL merry go round like a mutha in here.
Cotto has been trainin' for this fight longer than Pac has.....I think it was a good idea to rent a mansion and take it easy for while to keep from over-trainin'.....I think the trainin' will get more intense for Cotto as fight night approaches!!......he'll do well!!:boxing:
I do agree that Cottos team looks to be the more connected of the two, but all I stated was that all his in house chef seems o be making is BBQ'd food. Some of you guys get way too sensative and mistake saying their food seems to be all BBQ'd as hate.

yeah it made me seriously consider changing professions and becoming a pro fighter. what a life.
Did you see Cotto eating them? Don't you think the rest of the team deserves to eat food? Common niguuuu!
Did not see him eating it, but he was in the line up waiting for grub. Since there was only one grill and everyone huddled around it you would expect he ate something from it.
yeah and do you think it was cotto eating those hot dogs or his friend do the math.....
cotto training for the biggest fight of his career having to make 145 and you think hes eating fatty food? no wait i dont actualy think you belive that yourself if it wasnt that you would have piced up on somthing else to hate on cotto about
if your a boxer in training for a mega fight & you are eating hotdogs & pichos there is a problem.
Why not just hire Riddick Bowe as a assistant chef?
cmon man. Cottos camop is just showing a stress free environment. If anything Pacquiaos camp looks like its falling apart and pacquiaos not showing enough consideration for his opponents skill and dangerous weapons and for his own personal condition for traning
I have not seen Cotto eating hot dogs so I don't know WTF you talking about and what is wrong with pinchos? That is chicken :smashfrea
Looked like either pork or beef to me.

First the golf playing was on Sunday, which is Cotto's day off (He trains from Monday to Saurday). The narrator clearly stated that.
Second I am not 100% sure but I believe there was no footage of Cotto eating hot dogs. I did see his mother with a hot dog and surely his fat friend pobably ate like 10 of them but no instance of cotto.
Also, fighters do not train 24/7. Do you think they train 12 hours a day. Absolutely not. They do have their spend alone time and they may choose to do whatever they want to do with it (just as pacquiao likes to go Karaoking, playing basketball, or having meetings with politicians). If Cotto likes to have a splash in the pool and have some fun then good for him. I think it is rather good for him to relax his mind also.

:lmaooo::lmaooo:
well the show would have been pretty boring if it was just cotto training they had to throw othere stuff in there no boxer trains 24/7 relaxing after training is verry important also. btw not that the hole thing wasnt boring but you know it was ok
