Maybe because he stepped up in comp after Tszyu and got some of his flaws exposed?
No, after the KT fight (which RH developed bad habits in order to win it) Ricky started to try and bully fighters like he did KT instead of being a pressure fighter. Ricky also abandoned his tremendous body attack, started head hunting and clinching more. Pac and Floyd have beaten many quality fighters so I wouldn't say they "exposed" Ricky.
A "bum" could never beat Tszyu no matter how much heart he had...
Disagree. Imagine if you step up in the ring and you have to put it up against ricky hatton. Man that dude is a ragging bull. Only lost to p4p kings. Great fighter altough.
Hatton was a very durable and resilient boxer at one point, but I'm wondering whether the accumulation of punches taken and his unhealthy lifestyle caught up with him to the point it could have damaged his punch resistance irreversibly.
Agreed, He has tremedous heart and he has no skill, He over-achieve due to him having a rich promoter who was able to work him up rankings without doing much to gain it.
He build up a great fanbase which was able to give him the big names to fight and i commend him for taking fights like the Mayweather and pac even if he just done it for the money.
I have seen some so-called bum or journeyman with better boxing skills than Hatton, Like Roach said "He just isnt that good".
Hardly, you don't put a beating on a fighter like Malinaggi unless you have above average skills.
he's far from Elite in the skills department but to call him a bum in teh skills department shows an utter lack of boxing knowledge.
Its disgracefull someone who has never even stepped in a ring before calling a former world champion a bum.
He maybee fell a little bit short at the highest level but you dont get to that level in boxing by being a bum.
His skills are there to see on the many fights on youtube etc, all be it against fighters a little past there best, his use of the skills he had diminished as he became more popular and more eager to please his fans.
This combined with his whore of a girlfriend who has got Ricky involved in his dirty little habbit imo has been the cause for his demise and lack of punch resistance.
Im amazed her past hasnt been made public knowledge, on one of their recent benders he threatened to give her a beating, she is without doubt the worst thing to happen to Hatton and im positive all will be revealed and Britians favourite boxer will be in for some serious shit.
All though he has made a chunk of money I think he began to believe his own hype, his third person interviews and the constant P4P talk is proof enough but the way he treated his body has been madness, the sacking of Billy Graham and Kerry K was yet another sign of his I know best attitude, all culminating in his poor showing against Floyd and blaming everyone else for what happened.
He should go to AA and live like an athlete not like an 18 year old student, then maybe he could still have a swansong ang go out on a high but its a big maybe.
He over achieved IMO, still a great guy that earned it though.
True, he faced 2 opponents that were elite boxers. Main reason he got both those fights was down to his popularity and consequently the money he could generate. But he did real well to hang in there with Mayweather for 10 rounds.

GYGB Ep 6 - Hatton...
agreed, skillwise hatton was garbage, but he basically won based on heart and tenacity and size at 140. he didn't do bad for himself given his limitations
Didn't he leave Warren right after Tszyu?
Warren built him IMO. Without Warren Hatton's career would have been completely different.
True though, Hatton's management was still pretty shrewd and opportunistic beyond Warren's involvement seeing an end.
I like to talk shit about Hatton but he accomplished a great deal so he had more then just heart as a positive quality. He was not an overly skillful technician but that does not mean he was devoid of positive attributes from a boxing side of the equation.
Everyone has awesome signatures :( i wish I could have one of Collazo or Chris John.
I agree and disagree with it, he does has a heart of a champion, but he went far beyond what he could handle.

GYGB Ep 6 - Hatton...
its a bit harsh, heart of a warrior is true, he layed it all on the line against the best when he could have stayed at home and took mandatory after mandatory. he is not a boxer, hes a brawler, and he showed against tszyu that brawling can be a under rated skill.
