According to Steve Kim on Twitter:
stevemaxboxing according to Arum, Yuri Gamboa will face Rogers Mtagwa on Jan23 in New York on Boxing After Dark with SLuevano-JuanMaLopez

Mtagwa is a really, really easy opponent to outbox but if you trade punches with him, he always stands a chance because he is one of the toughest fighters out there.
Gamboa is not really a smart fighter and might make it more difficult for himself than it should be against a limited but durable boxer like Mtagwa.
I do think that Gamboa's speed will be far too much to Mtagwa to overcome. Rogers has already done a lot more with his career than anyone would have imagined and can be proud about what he has achieved. You are never disappointed at watching him fight unless it's against Billy Dib of course.
all gamboa has to do is what lopez didnt do, that is trade too much with mtagwa and not be careless. gamboa by wide ud based on him now having the recipe on beating mtagwa after watching lopez fight him.
Arum won't put JuanMa in with Gamboa way, way too risky for his cash cow. The Mtagwa fight will be entertaining while it lasts and when Gamboa wins, it will be written off that JuanMa already "softened" him up for Gamboa, LOL!!
Arum's entire plan all along has been to put these two guys against eachother in the summer.
Unless one of them loses between now and then, you can be sure that they will fight over the summer

"Smart" like how he fought against Garcia? He rushed in, looked very sloppy and got caught with all sorts of silly shots. Didn't look patient at all as the rounds went on. I'm still a Gamboa believer, but I don't think he's looked all that great in his last 2 fights.
Mtagwa will likely make him look even worse with his spoiling style (he reminded me way too much of Olivier Lontchi; Lopez's previous opponent), and not least because he seems to have an iron chin - taking all of Lopez's best shots like they were nothing! :shk1:
Gamboa had the advantage of seeing what Mtagwa did to Lopez. He would be an idiot to go all wild and try to take him out early. Either way this fight is building up for Lopez vs Gamboa.
Gamboa will just box smart and not try to rush into anything.

Nice! I bet Juanma told Arum to put Gamboa with Mtagwa. I remember him saying something about a Gamboa vs Mtagwa fight.
He might be on to something. Gamboa and Mtagwa are brawlers and I think it'll be a great fight. They're probably also trying to see how Gamboa does with him compared to Lopez.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! What happened to the Lopez fight?
I don't ever want to see that idiot Mtagwa again. All he did was punch after the bell (6 times, no less) and hold like a pussy.
