I saw "KO KID" Joey Spina is fighting Loue DeValle on the 31st at cruiserweight????? Spina is a middleweight I thought? Why the heck would he fight someone so much heavier at this stage of his career? I think that his manager is making a big mistake. Not that I think DeValle is any good anymore, but why risk his rating by giving up so much weight?
Yes. SPina has proven to be one tough customer for sure. It seemed like they were on track to make a real good payday with him, given his high rankings. It was very surprising to see them give up all that weight at such a crucial time in his career.
I like Joey Spina; he gives 100% in every fight, tries to be entertaining and seems to be a hard worker. He'll probably never contend for a title or anything but he's a solid journeyman and is good for the sport...
That's why I thought it was a careless move by Team Spina. Regardless of what Spina's talent or lack of is, he was rated in the top 15 of all 4 major sanctioning bodies. Why give up that weight?
Spina weighed in at 176.5, just above light heavyweight. Del Valle came in at 185, which was above the limit -- the limit was either 181 or 181 plus 2.
there you go mate
thats the biggest award you can hope for
I didn't say any type of award, I thought I deserved the King of the World award, so that is about the biggest award I can hope for. I just thought I should mention that I deserved an award, but you're right, I think I'm the King of the World too.
