He's one of the best boxers in the world, going into one of the biggest fights of his career and he still keeps his best mate who is a clinically obese around him. That is a decency that not many stars have. How many sports stars could you imagine wanting to be seen with such a fat person? Most would feel embarrassed and think they're too important and famous to hang around with a clinically obese fat guy. But he's Cotto's friend and despite Cotto's success Cotto still remembers that. He could go and hang around with other famous stars and only care for his image but he's got moral values and that is something I really respect.
Question:
Am I the only one who isn't quite convinced about Cotto's trainer?
Don't you wish he had a more seasoned guy going into this fight?
I agree and always have said this before.
I'd prefer someone whos more seasoned and is more experience in making a good game plan for Cotto.
I agree I feel Cotto trains himself sometimes but when you fight great fighters you need more assistance from your trainer.
That's the ONLY thing that worries me about this fight, how his corner is going to propel Cotto to the next level to beat Pacquiao.

I think Cotto has always pretty much been his own trainer, in a sense. What i have seen through the years in his fights is he does his own thinking and adjusting (very well) to his opponents style, and when he's in the corner resting and getting instructions, i don't remember him really adherring to them.
I could be wrong, my memory isn't the greatest, but that's always been my impression of him. If Cotto did listen and apply his trainer's instructions in the corner, i would be very concerned, because like I've said before, they look like a bunch of kids.
But I'm fairly confident (55/45) of Cotto's success. Pac ain't handing him a win, and it's might be a real tough fight for him, maybe not...it's anybody's guess, but those are my odds for him winning the fight. Also he could very well lose. But i doubt it a bit more than believe it.
Manny is more outgoing, has a ton of friends and can get comfortable in any atmosphere. He is made to be a politician and that is why he will be one in the near future. He is outgoing and will always be in the public eye as he enjoys being ijn the spotlight.
Cotto is more private. he likes to keep his business to himself. He lives the quietest life he can even though he is famous himself. Cotto keeps a close inner circle of family and friends that he keeps to himself.
Both guys are on opposite scales. I am more like Cotto myself. I usually shun new people around me. I have my family and friends. Even at work, I go there to work and not socialize. People always wonder why I don't go to work related parties etc. I just cannot be bothered with them as I have my family and friends. I don't need more.
I always like your posts, Deanrw...and this is one of them. I am like that also. And i understand Pacs outgoing personality contrasts Cotto's more privacy-led lifestyle. Two very different personalities and also fighting styles to match. What a confrontation this is going to be in the ring!
Cotto is huge, gigantic, enormous, super big!!
he will beat manny because he is the better boxer of the 2 with better boxing skills!!!!
i never said cotto wasn't skilled... but cotto is too big. pac shouldn't be able to beat him.

he doesnt get much more respect from me cuz he's still hanging out with his best friend... what kind of douche would ditch a real friend cause of his weight
Many peepz would...:sad6:

Cotto is great. I respect the hell out of him! Only fools and haters don't like him.
Or guys/gals that have had their fav fighters beat up by Cotto...:purity:
It has been my observation that puertorriquenos put the Orgullo Boricua first and foremost. I respect that about them.
In fact, i was watching a show on Animal Planet, and Rescue Ink went to this guy's house. The man had about six PR flags on his wall.
Muy Orgulloso.
This may seem small-minded, but I believe that Latinos (and some Blacks) and many non-American cultures are less superficial and more family/friend-oriented than Americans or other euro-centric groups are.
I think that Pacquiao would also proudly have a 400 pound buddy.
Yeah, even though pac seems to like the fame and fortune a little more, he's still a humble guy, and handles his success very well. And he has a hell of a lot of success!!! Lol.
Yeah, nice to see all the fame and furtune didn't go to his head. A lot of people can't handle it. Some get corrupt like a lot of politicians, and /or get greedy and miserly, and insecure, never knowing who their real friends are, or if they just like him for what he is, not who he is.
