still today people talk about the disgrace of Antonio Margarito

I don't like some of the connotations in the post but I really don't understand the hype that margarito gets. The cotto win was impressive but he was and still isn't anything special to me and the cheating thing just makes it even worse. I guess I'm the only one though.

i dont like him he ATTEMPTED to cheat and thats why so i hope he doesnt get a big fight......he has a cloud over his head and he did it to himsel...i dont know if he would be great or elite just not intrested in his career is tainted he didnt attempt to cheat..his trainer did...SSM did cheat and gets big fights all the time.. you are not the judge or jury...if he is able to fight again then its because he paid for his mistake....so if CSAC allow him to fight then I dont have a problem w/it...

Paul ducked the rematch dude. Like it or not. T You think I didn't bitch about him calling out Pac?? He looked like a hypocrite in doing so cause he criticized DLH. I don't see Paul Williams wanting to do a rubber match with Quintana or Clottey or other dudes that are calling him out. Yet he ignores them and cries that he's the most avoided. Similar what Mosley is doing at WW. Ok....what would you prefer? A name like MOSLEY ON YOUR RESUME?? Who happens to be A HOF/ATG type fighter OR Williams who can't draw flies to shit?? Remember the 4mil dollar was such a bullshit tactic, just like the 8 mil offered to Floyd. We don't know what other details there was to that offer. Let's say what you are bringing up is true about Williams turning down the rematch while he first won the belt. Hell, in situations of where guys are mandatories rematches are rarely fought right after the first fight is over with. But when the fight was the best option for both of them, Margarito is the one who turned it down.

Cintron, Cotto and almost on shane before he was stop by the authorities. the reality is that the opinion of people about this mexican boxer is so bad that i do not beleive he will never recover from this. if he fight again someday, i hope not, his fights will be maybe boycott. nobody in his right mind will buy a fight from a cheater fighter. Margarito should start another career, maybe selling hot dogs or mixing concrete in mexico. but not in boxing, he left a bad reputation in the boxing community it wasn't disgraceful making cotto bow down to him on his knees and quit. it was disgraceful to get caught using plaster against mosley.

Not that it would matter now, but he should just hold a press conference and come clean and apologize for the whole situation. Denying it would be a moot point because the evidence is irrefutable at this time. His past fights are now in question. Although his chin is not. He's got a granite chin because he's never been KO'd cold.

He did, there's enough suspicious things that happen that lets you know he did. So why put Cotto down saying he got beat even if it was in an unfairly manner. You wouldn't say the same if it were some other fighter. The belt means scrap his health means more and its could have hurt his career. You don't know it, but you can't say other wise, because your not him. I've seen the fight and the corner says the story. They were cheating. If they take it to court they can be caught like liars. Because they'll be too nervous to remember all their made up stories.

You know what kind of person obsesses over something bad some guy did a long time ago......? The bitches, they whine and complain about everything and never let you forget about a stupid incident even if it only happened once......who says there are not many girls on the boards. A persons actions can affect the future of a boxers career in the long run. That's what i get at when i post about cheato. i could probably word it better. Not so much as what happened before, but i have to include that for it to make sense, ya know? That fight with cheato (if he did cheat) could affect his fight with pac. It might have even affected him with the Clottey fight. You don't see this is relevant? Once you're branded a cheater, you wear that name forever. It will always be brought up by bigger men than you or I.

Iceta...again a gree with you. but anytime you see me dissing cheato, is because of the chance that he might have ruined an undefeated boxer by such a brutal beatdown ( nobody proved he DIDN't cheat) and maybe ruined Cotto's career. He just positioned himself as #1 in the WBO rankings because he knew that Williams would move up in weight eventually and that would give him the incentive to fight for his vacant belt like Cotto did. Arum has always kept both of his guys away from Williams. You can't sugar coat it any other way. And I also remember of how Margarito cried about being robbed and how he would never get in the ring with Williams again unless it was promoted by Goosen. Williams was beaten more convincingly against Quintana than Margarito was againt Williams, and yet Williams still mustered up the courage to get back in there and KTFO out of the cat in one round. But after Margarito beat Cotto, he turned into a Mexican Justin Timberlake and just focused on getting a payday with your boy De La Hoya and got all fat and blew up in weight (which probably helped contribute to his ass whipping against Shane). He bashed De La Hoya for fighting Manny Pacquiao and called him a coward for it. Now here is where Margarito put his foot in his mouth. He said after the De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight was over with, "I'll gladly fight Manny Pacquiao." And here is another one. "I've got no score to settle with Paul Williams." If that's not a pussy, I don't know what is. You don't see Paul Williams saying "I don't want to fight Pavlik because I don't think I can handle 160." Margarito would've though. BoxingScene is full of Nostrodamus people. Margarito is an extremely high mileage, limited fighter. In his 30s and moving up to a new weight class. Margarito always got by being bigger than his opponents, and having an iron chin, and of course cheating. His chin is cracked, his opponents will be his size, and he wont get away with cheating. Margarito is finished at the top level.
