Should Paul Williams name be put into consideration if Jermain Taylor drops out?

You are right its an assumption but trainers don't always tell the truth That's true but there really is no reason for him to lie. They've been saying this for years. Ive been at a Williams camp before and have heard Peterson his trainer complaining about moving to 160 because they don't really want to be there. He said Paul can't even pretend and weigh-in at the limit; that he'll be forced to come in the fight around 157 because that's as close as he gets to 160 while training - training that includes PW stuffing his face whenever he isn't in the gym.

That logic doesn't add up - not everyone kills their body to make weight. He walks around at 155. In fact, he entered camp for the Pavlik fight at 155. He's got to be uber pissed right about now. I know not everyone kills themselves to make weight but I can't really believe if his trainer says he walks around at 155. Oh well.

he tried to, but the MW champ keeps pulling out......at 147, none of the champs will fight him...at 154, i guess he feels there aren't enough big fights.... if you can fight at 168, you should be allowed in the tourney...doesn't matter whether you came from MW, or LHW...... who the **** wants to see bika in the SMW tourney? who's the last good SMW he's beaten, dummy? for the third time, mosley doesn't wanna fight williams....he's tried to get that fight..... It's not a matter of who he has beat, it's more a matter of that he is available and he is a super middle weight. Paul is untested at that weight. I would have much rather have seen the following Lucian Bute, Librado Andrade, Sakio Bika over Andreas Dirrel, Andre Ward and Jermain Taylor Bika is ranked 5th by Ring. Higher than Ward and Dirrell the bore fest is not even ranked by RM. I sure as hell dont want to see Green in this tourney. I much rather see Pantera over Green. Williams is untested. End.

Why do people keep bringing up Allan Green?? What has he done to be in the tourney? He's an unimpressive underachiever. Bute/Andrade winner should be given first dibs, otherwise, Paul is a great choice. if bute wins....i agree.

PW is not a super middle weight. Let Paul Williams try to own a division. I am tired of seeing this kid move around so much. This is a super middle weight tournament. We already have two middle weights in this tournament, we don't need another. Considering Paul got beat by a limited kid named Quintana, I don't see Williams as such a huge threat in a super middle weight tourney. Sure he beat an old Winky but he lost to a young not so good Quintana? Yeah he did. He probably took Quintana lightly but you might have a point if he didn't rematch Quintana already and stopped him in the 1st round. Williams would have BEAT any version of Winky Wright.

Paul would beat everybody in the tourney by overwhelming them with workrate alone. All of them are stiffs compared to Paul. How many punches do they throw? 30, 40 a round? They would all get UD'd. If Williams joins the tourney I would bet all of my points in each and every fight he participates in and i would win them all. Ward, Dirrell, Froch, Abraham, none of those guys have a chance against Paul. Kessler on the other hand, has the style to give Williams some problems. No. IMO, there's more deserving fighters than Williams who should get in. allan green would probably get the call first. i don't think williams would accept an invitation seeing as how he's had only 2 fights at MW.....
