Coming from a Brit, I scored it 117-112 in favour of Andre Dirrel.
Froch showed nothing in this fight. Froch got schooled tonight worse than he did against Taylor (up until the KO of Taylor) yet walks away with a fixed hometown points decision.
He did NOTHING. He was aggressive but barely landed anything meaningful.
Super Six Tournament is fixed to arrange a meeting with Mikkel Kessler and Carl Froch.
Shame on you to all those involved for letting it happen.
Joke tournament. I hope Dirrel and Froch meet again and Froch gets obliterated and exposed like the over-rated fighter he is.
6-4-2 in rounds for Dirrell, with the 1 point deduction for a score of 115-114 for the Matrix. And I had picked Froch before hand to win and was rooting for him.
I scored it 114-113 for Froch, the same as Dan Rafael: 6 rounds each and the point deduction.
It could have been anything from 116-111 for Froch to 115-112 for Dirrell.
Neither fighter was impressive. Froch showed a lack of boxing skills, he was not throwing smart combinations or countering when he had the chance. A couple of times Dirrell was stunned and Froch just stood and waited a couple of seconds until he recovered, instead of attacking.
And Dirrell fought like a frightened little girl.
I was much more impressed with BOTH Abraham and Taylor in the other fight.
Dan Rafael scored it for Froch?? Wow! He's even shittier than I thought he was. Gotta love those boxing "experts!"
...
Oh and anyone not scoring the first round a even 10-10 shouldn't ever judge a fight again, neither fight threw a scoring punch.
I agree. From what I've seen most fans flat out refuse to score even rounds though; its as though they view it as some weak, indecisive cop out to score a round even. As if two fighters never gave as much as they took in a round. This is precisely why we see so many crazily lopsided scores going both ways. I believe that unless one fighter clearly wins a round, then it absolutely should be scored even. When you force yourself to pick a winner in a round, you're just setting yourself up for a bad card.
115-112 Froch posted in the live round by round thread before the scores were read. Im american. :usa2:
Wow. You don't really have to explain why, but can you at least say which rounds you gave to Froch?
i'm australian and andre clearly won that fight
Being Australian also means you are probably drunk and pissing in a broom cupboard you mistaked for a toilet. What makes you think you can judge a fight?
Not really i think people are scoring for the style they prefer, if they don't like people who don't/won't engage then they are scoring for Froch.
Personnally i hate the way Dirrell fough the first 9 1/2 rounds but he still won the majority off them because Froch didn't land anything.
In teh Cal Vs BHop fight, Cal didn't land alot but he landed enough so that i could score him rounds based on what he did vs BHop's negativity, Froch literally landed nothing for entire rounds.

Interesting, thanks for the insight. :fing02:
Weird scores for this fight from people. Either wide for Dirrell or close win for Froch. Sounds like one of those close decisions that could've gone either way but favored the hometown fighter.

At least Taylor did not run and hold 24/7 vs Froch, Dirrel deserved nothing from tonight period
I have a lot of respect for Taylor, he fought his heart out but AA was just to strong for him. Too bad Taylor doesn't get to fight this bitch I'm sure he would beat his ass.
Dirrell on the other hand fought like a bitch, I'm glad the judges saw it that way also. Fighting in this style is definately not constructive in any way towards boxing, excesive holding and running should be used against a fighter in the scoring criteria. Fighters that want to fight this way, should defect to Cuba and fight in the amateurs if they want to make a living off of boxing.

The fight was very, very close. The guy sat next to me thought Dirrell had won a close fight, and the guy behind , me thought Froch won a close fight. I even said to my mate that a draw wouldn't be a bad call...even though I believe Froch won.
Froch will recieve a huge backlash from this board because it is American dominated, and they are still smarting from Taylors earlier defeat. No one gave Froch a chance at winning a decision, I just hope he is given credit for doing what they said he couldn't do.
Good post but I doubt it....
Basically, Dirrell running from Froch for 11.5 rounds (the number they like to quote for the Taylor fight) deserves a decision? LOL.
No, just NO.
A draw is fair enough but with the point deduction you are looking at a Froch win in that case.
It's amazing how the scores are different from everyone.
I really think it's tough to argue with a split decision.

8-3-1 the tie was the round with the deduction
Shit, you're right. I'm correcting mine to 8-2-2 Dirrell. Nobody can score the first round anything other than a draw - there wasn't a single punch thrown.
I was at the arena watching the fight, with a pretty good view. I had Froch one point up. It was a very close fight and I wouldn't have argued if Dirrell was given the decision. A draw would have been fair, but in my opinion, Froch just edged it.
