imho the fighters won't really hit you and most probably just keep you at bay and maybe let you hit them on their arms and gloves...
yeah, probably. On that MTV show Cotto didn't spar that guy (who never boxed a day in his life) but at least provided him with some clean hooks to the body as the fatty took it with his arms raised and waiting. The point is, you could see Cotto didn't put everything behind it, but gave him a taste.
...considering I weigh 215... I'd spar Cotto. Pacquiao's footspeed/head movement is just enough for me to never land a punch, even with his hands tied behind his back. Whereas Cotto would whoop me harder, if not KO me, I'd still have a chance to land a damn punch. And Pac is so damn fast I'd throw a jab and get hit by 2 punches I saw coming but wasn't fast enough to move away from, and 5 more that I couldn't see... and 2 more as I am falling to the ground unconscious.
I honestly would love to, it would be an honnor and a great learning experience to spar with some of the top guys in the world.
This thread should have been in the training section, half the clowns who posted in this thread saying they would never laced up a pair of gloves in their life.
I think it would be a great experience, and either one would be great because each one is different. I don't do boxing what I do practice is chinese boxing so for me it would be a really cool experience.
For the record, I would fight both. I'd predict a UD over Cotto, possibly a late tko. I would spark Pac out with my sheer size and power, within one. Not one round though- one minute.
What are you smokin? There is an absolute 0% chance Im getting one-punched in headgear by a WW.
I'm going to assume that you have never even seen a live boxing ring.
I would go in with Pac. I would want to see how fast and hard he really hits. Cuz it looks devastating on TV. But, in the ring it be like 10x faster and harder. I think it would be a cool experience.
Look if you did all that like u said and I have no reason to not believe you, then you know the skill a world class fighter possesses. Just last week in a gym in Ft. Lauderdale, I witnessed a 200lb guy, brought in to train a fighter that weighs 140lbs for a fight coming up. About :30 seconds into the 1st round, the lighter guy threw a straight left (he's a lefty) and knocked home boy out.....COLD.
With head gear and 16 oz gloves. He's no chump either, I have sparred with this guy and he's strong. He's a Haitian kid and has good skills.
Imagine what a master like Pac can do? He just knocked out an undefeated WW in camp just recently.
I think we had a misunderstanding I know they could both destroy me and even one punch could put me down, but if Im sparring with a world class fighter my hands are going to be up especially at the beginning of the first round. Im not world class or anywhere near but I know my own ability to absorb punishment and know that I could last a minute or so. I have never been in world class, but I have been in there with a good journeyman(Ross Purrity) and some amateur champs in both kickboxing and boxing.
Very impressive. The best sparring I've ever had was with an amateur roughly my age and weight, but with about 3 times as many fights as me, he's definitely one of the best for his age/weight in the country. We both went hard and got in good rounds, even though I feel he got the best of me I still held my own and suprised him a bit. So obviously I've never had the chance to work with a guy like Pascal, but I will one day.
That's good man. I posted pics here before with me and Pascal. He's a great guy, we talked about the Marquez fight and he talked to me about how he was going to win this fight guaranteed. He ended up winning it and becoming Light HW champ.
Im getting older now man, it sucks. My body doesn't react the way it once did and I don't recuperate the way I once did.
Wish you luck man, stick with it. I train now and love to work with young guys like yourself. I just recently did a big card at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood Florida. I hope to train full time one day.
I boxed from 12-17 and I still train regularly. I only had 36 total fight because I injured my rotator cuff. I've sparred with one of only 3 men to defeat the best HW in the world, so dont sit and talk like I have no idea what Im doing. My only statement was that Pac or Cotto could not just walk over and KO with one punch. Thats all, could they KO me in one round? Probably, but my ability to take a punch has nothing to do with my skills plus I would be wearing headgear, Im good for a minute anyway.

Because we sparred for 2 rounds going about 50%. Plus, I have been boxing since I was 13 and had 70 amateur fights when I was a younger. Im in my 30's now and don't claim to be very good anymore but I can hold my own. If he wanted to Im sure he could have gotten me out of there.
For the record, I would be more worried fighting Pacquiao than Jean Pascal. His speed is scary.
