Just thought it would interest to some of you to give my opinion on the fight.
I see this being a very interesting one. Froch is a good fighter but the technical skills advantage would go to Dirrell. He's not only a lot faster than Froch but he has a better defense, as well.
I think we'll see Dirrell winning most of the rounds. He's got the speed to catch Froch and basically pick his punches. But the thing is Dirrell will not be able to knock out Froch and that means he must go the full 12 rounds.
I've seen Dirrell's fights before and I notice that he tends to tire during the later part of his fights. Exactly what happened to Taylor when he fought Froch.
Froch has the stamina and the chin to be able to take this fight to the late rounds. By then, I predict that Dirrell will be gassed out and it'll be over with Froch TKO'ing Taylor.
Froch by TKO in rounds 10-12.
That would be hilarious if Dirrell hit hard enough to KO Froch in the early rounds like round 2 like Pacman did to Hatton. But I doubt it, I think Dirrell is here to win a decision.
Carl Froch is not Curtis Stevens and this ring isn't gonna be 30'.
Dirrell will move when he has to but he knows he can't beat Froch backpedaling all night. Froch will bring it and Dirrell knows that Froch is wide open and he can sit down on some big punches.
When Froch starts getting hit his only reaction will be to come forward more recklessly. I can't see Dirrell potshotting his way to a decision because Froch just won't allow it to happen like that. As critical as I am of Froch's skill I don't question his heart or pride and I know he will press this fight till the bitter end.
Dirrell will knock him out because Froch won't have it any other way.
Y the fact that you had to add Brian Magee to your list just personifies your desperation!!.. :D , that man sucks and you bloody well know it, i've seen all of Carl's fights so you ain't fooling me  .
It is hilarious as well that he gives credit for Robin Reid. Reid had been knocked out and already washed up a full 2and half years against Jeff LOL Lacy. He was pretty much a corpse against Froch who still needed 5 rounds to get rid of him.
In fact when you look at it, when Froch was in the same position as Dirrell is now, his resume was certainly not better and in my opinion not nearly as good.
Reid and Rybacki were both coming off 2 year layoffs and couldn't even be considered active boxers. The Tatevoysyn guy was a complete joke. Everyone else was domestic level.
Pretty sorry list if you ask me. Really one of the very few people with a weaker resume than Froch going into a title shot is Jean Pascal who has never beaten anyone of any significance. Despite having nothing but a long line of bums to his credit Pascal is viewed as an accomplished fighter and Froch is credited with a magical "massive victory".
How can fans of Froch, who hadnt beaten anyone with a pulse and still won a world title, think it's ridiculous for Andre Dirrell to do the exact same thing?
That would be hilarious if Dirrell hit hard enough to KO Froch in the early rounds like round 2 like Pacman did to Hatton. But I doubt it, I think Dirrell is here to win a decision.
Yeah but if Andre has Froch in trouble like Taylor did he'll jump all over him for sure, when Dirrell smells blood he goes all in and with his speed and ability to hit from both sides Carl would do well to survive this time.
Froch can talk all the good stuff he wants but he will be getting a lot of lead straight lefts connecting on his chin. Dirrel will be getting off like crazy and Froch will be exposed as a fighter with journeymen potential and that's it. He's gonna get hit alot more than he did against Taylor and it's gonna look worse.
Froch only fights one way and that is at the end of his punches. He can't fight inside because he can only throw an uppercut there and he can't fight moving. His fights like he got cement boots on and ankle weights on his wrist. His only way to win is a KO somehow because he's not boxing Dirrel to a UD. No way possible without a blatant robbery. He doesn't posses what it takes to UD him.
WAYS TO WINNING THE FIGHT.
FROCH: 1. Find a way to get to Dirrel and KO him.
2. There is no 2, 3,4 or 5 because he only has one way to win.
DIRRELL: 1. Just outbox him with angles and that handspeed that will have froch scared to throw on route to a UD.
2. Accumulate a high amount of damage on Froch and knock him out (please let me hear the reason why Froch can't be KOed LOL). He most likely will be KOed
3.Dirrell can run and popshot Froch all night and Froch's limited footwork won't be able to do anything about it on route to a UD.
These 4 outcomes are the only possible outcomes. Not to mention that froch can't find sparring for Dirrell. He won't get any either because nobody he can get has the tools like Dirrell. The only 2 guys he can get for sparring are Chad Dawson and Anthony Dirrell. Nobody else will give froch anything that will get him ready for the speed, movement and overall skills he will see from Andre Dirrell. This is gonna be an easy to score fight with Andre dominating.
As for other things I got to speak on, Froch has beaten Jermaine Taylor and while that is a great feat we all know how that happened. JT gassed out late and got undisciplined then Froch was there to take advantage of it. He was outboxed and in there with someone better and got the W. That's a great win no matter how anyone wants to look at it. He weathered the storm. Now to the point, I'm tired of people talking about that dam bum Jean Pascal as a big win. That guy is a bum, he's not fast but fights like it and he moves around slow (slow bounce) but acts like he's moving fast. He's sloppy period and to hear some of your say he's anything more then a B fighter (which Froch is) is just too funny. That bum he beat at LHW wasn't even respectable. Why do you think Pascal went up in weight? He's a dam bum and I hope he fights Johnson, Hopkins or Dawson sometime.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BOOKMARK OR SAVE THIS POST BECAUSE DIRREL IS GONNA BUST DAT ASS AND I'M LOOKIN FORWARD TO SEEING HOW MANY FROCH FANS BECOME DIRRELL'S FANS.
Very well said. I see a Dirrell winning by UD coming. If Froch can't capitalize that speed in the later rounds I see Dirrell knocking him out. This is boxing anything will happen.
The punch to look for from Froch will be whatever one lands on dirrells chin first.
Froch's power is not over-rated. Taylor and Pascall have good chins.
Froch has a good chin, he was never almost knocked through the ropes by a bum like Rocha.
People talk about Dirrell being "skilled" er ok, he has good handspeed but poor accuracy, wide open defense and the footwork of bambi on ice.
Dirrell has never fought ANYONE.
Froch beat Current Light Heavyweight Champ Jean Pascall, 2X Bernard Hopkins conqurer and Multiple World Titlist Jermain Taylor, Fromer WBC super middleweight world Chapion Robin Reid, IBO world champion Brian Magee, multiple European and national champions and beat them all.
Dirrell hasnt fought anyone
You may talk about Andre being knocked down NEARLY 4 YEARS AGO when he was only 22 YEARS OLD but Froch was knocked down in his last fight by a man who couldn't floor light middleweights, that's a fact, and as for Carl's defence  , he makes Dirrell's look like Mayweather's, even after all these years HE STILL KEEPS HIS LEFT ARM DOWN which is such an amateurish mistake to make this deep into his career, you can bark out those TWO NAMES Carl has on his record but guess what?!!.. names don't make fights STYLES DO and it's pretty obviously to any unbiased eye that Andre has all the tools to school Carl, Carl's facing the fastest hands in the division and whether you like it or not speed kills, add that to Andre's movement (another thing Carl is gonna struggle with because he's so damn slow) and skills and it spells trouble for Carl, Carl is not a one punch ko artist so yes his power is getting very overrated, the fact that you had to add Brian Magee to your list just personifies your desperation!!.. :D , that man sucks and you bloody well know it, i've seen all of Carl's fights so you ain't fooling me  .
Sorry but this kind of notion is so flawed it's untrue, Dirrell has stopped 13 of his 18 opponants and Carl has been put on his backside by a guy who couldn't even floor light middleweights in Cory Spinks and Kassim Ouma, no-one doubts that Carl can take a punch but this big idea that "he can't be ko'd" is hugely overstated, they said the same thing about Margarito, they said the same thing about Hatton before he faced Floyd, really it doesn't matter how tough you are if you get hit hard enough directly on the sweet spot you're going down, Carl's defence is simply shocking and the fact that he was rocked plenty of times against Taylor and Pascal would suggest that he most certainly can be taken out.
I'm glad you said that. All I see people write about Froch is his power, which is overrated, and his chin, which ain't all that either. They talk about Dirrell's inexperience and base everything about Froch off Pascal and Taylor fights, making it seem like Froch has KOd elite opponents on a consistent basis.
I think we'll see Dirrell winning most of the rounds. He's got the speed to catch Froch and basically pick his punches. But the thing is Dirrell will not be able to knock out Froch and that means he must go the full 12 rounds.

The punch to look for from Dirrell will be a counter right hook out of a southpaw stance when Froch throws his lazy lunging jab.
Dirrell hands are fast enough that he can pick Froch off with the lead hook and step aside out of trouble a lot like Pac did to Hatton.
It should also be the punch he counters with when Froch tries to throw a sweeping right uppercut from too far out.
Pascal doesn't have much of a defense.
Also, a lot of Dirrell's toughness, stamina, etc. are unproven or unknown. They may come through in this fight.

You mean his lack of those assets will be exposed
Like I said before, this is boxing and anything can happen. A lot of those are unknown about him.
Don't let your bias blind you.
Froch may come across and batter Dirrell, its one option. Dirrell doesnt have the chin, defence, power or toughness as Jean Pascall.
His other option is to simply let Dirrell run for a few rounds till he is tired and then blast him
Pascal doesn't have much of a defense.

Against mediocre opposition dirrell is able to push fighters back with flurries of low power shots.
that wont work with froch
People calling for Froch to come out and blast Dirrell better be careful what they wish for. If Carl comes out stupid he is the one likely to caught with a big counter shot that he doesn't see.
Dirrell actually doesnt have better defense, in my opinion.
I think Carl will cut the ring off in the 6th round, Dirrell has handspeed but his footwork sucks and Carl should be able to trap him.
Froch ko 7-9
I am thinking the same thing. I think he can avoid single punches well, but when he gets pressured and is against the ropes he seems pretty easy to get hit. I do think that he can outbox Froch in the early rounds, but this is a 12 round fight! Froch will get to him at some point in the fight.

Froch ko 7-9
One minute you think Dirrell will win, the next minute you think Froch will win.
Make up you mind brov!
Let me say something here and now.
Direll is NOT hard to hit.
figure the rest out yourselves
Question... if Froch is one of your favorites, and you are picking him by KO. Why are you betting on Dirrell then? :lol1:.
