Danny Williams Keeps British heavyweight title
The British Boxing Board of Control met today (Wednesday) and decided the 36 year-old from London should keep the belt – despite his shock defeat in this month’s ‘Prizefighter’ competition to underdog Carl Baker.
Manager Mickey Helliet said: “This is such good news. I didn’t think it would be right to strip Danny of the title because he lost a three-round fight.
“He has been a great ambassador for British boxing and deserved better than that.
“Danny was going to carry on boxing anyway and this news has put a spring in his step.”
Williams is scheduled make his next title defence against the winner of the Sam Sexton-Martin Rogan Commonwealth title rematch in Belfast on November 6.

sweet if Rogan can take care of Sexton he can add the GOAT to his resume after that.
Harrison, Skelton and Danny all wins for Rogie hopefully. Ripping the old gurad domestic HW scene to shreds, and he's an old man himself.
This was the fight i wanted instead of Sexton the first time.
War Rogie!
Audley Harrison has weighed in on the issue...
audley_Harrison: Just heard Danny has kept his title. Losing to Carl Baker was bad enough, but he also was KTFO by Albert Sosnowski in November. What a joke
He would know all about being a joke.
