Why do people keep making these threads? I don't know why it keeps having to be pointed out, but the fight was contracted at 147. There was a penalty for coming in over 144, but the paper that Marquez and Mayweather signed was for a fight at Welterweight.
it was originally a catchweight fight at 144 that had to be amended at the
11th hr. because floyd knew before he stepped on the scale that he was coming in 2 lbs. over...doesn't sound like a lot, but when your opponent is moving up two divisions, that grossly unfair...what made matters worse was floyd refusing to reveal his unofficial weight and got perturbed when asked about it...had this been a b or c fighter, they would have been hogtied, but since floyd is in the "suits" good graces, he gets excused...
he didnt make weight because he's so fukkin afraid to lose.....he won't even put himself in a position where a L is a possibility.....takin' off the extra weight would've gave JMM a chance......but Floyd doesn't like competition......he said it himself.....he's an entertainer!!......Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are entertainers as well.....in fact more entertaining than Floyd.....but dudes like MJ and Kobe are competitors FIRST!!.....competitors love a challenge......Floyd is using boxing as his money scam!!......his last 4 fights has been against.....Baldi, DLH, Hatton and JMM.....:lol1:......while Cotto, Margarito, and Mosley were all available and quite willing!!.....but those guys would have a chance unlike his last 4 opponents who virtually went into those fights with 0 chance!! :boxing:
Its not about Floyd not fighting the best , he still may do that as he is still fighting so that comment is irrelevant in the context of the comvo , lots of fighters dont fight the best every fight Floyds resume is as good as most champions of his stature and better than many , its just that every fight he is expected to fight the best , if he fights Pac Cotto or Mosley next they are the best so lets see what he does , I would love to see the best fighters always fighting each other but its just not a real world probability , boxing is a business and it will always be run as a business its very complicated and a fan will just say oh he should fight him and him and then him , sorry mate it just dont happen that way .
Again you missing the point. I mentioned Floyd in just one sentence. Fucc Floyd. He is not bigger than boxing. The post I made was bigger than Floyd My whole post was about HBO making the mistake in investing on the instead of investing in making the best fights. Look at all the fights Berto had HBO before Collazo. Why pay a sanctioning fee to show mismatches? That does not help boxing. The super 6 tournament that is what helps boxing. I am a huge fan of Dawson. But, why invest in him? You pay Dawson to fight the Johnson rematch not the Tarver rematch.
Think of this. They money that HBO spend on a waste of a fight in the Dawson-Tarver rematch. They could of instead paid for Froch-Tayloy and Johnson-Adamek. Think about that. Instead of paying for Arreola-McCline, Berto-Urango, Angulo-Rivera, and Jacobs-Smith. They would of had enough money in their budget to have Mosley-Clottey this December. But, no they investing in stars in Dawson, Arreola, Angulo, Jacobs and Berto. And, cuz of that boxing suffers. We missing out in great fights.
Why is Showtime having a great tournament when HBO budget is much bigger? Why HBO can not do something similar like that? Cuz they are wasting their money in investing on the next big star. Best fights that's the key. When was the last time HBO had a FOTY? Gatti-Ward. Showtime have had 3 since then. Showtime used to invest in stars but then they realized that is not how you do it. Showtime learned and said no rights, great fights. HBO has not learned that yet and that is why they are slashing 15million dollars from their budget for next year. So please tell me how cutting 15million dollars from boxing budget helps the sport?

Mate you got to look at the big picture yourself and the way business is run at corporate level your being a little bit tight in your thinking boxing is a business it must generate to get investment , look at Tiger Woods or any other star they get the big investments the big sponsers which in turn puts them in the spotlight which in turn gives the sport more exposure its a merry go around and it happens in all sports from Schumacher to Woods to Jordan
You can compare boxing to other sports or to athlete of other sports. Yes you can easily invest in Kobe, Lebron, Tiger, Manning, etc etc etc... But, at the end those same athletes are competing against the best of best in their respective sport. If those stars would not be competing against the best. Their sport would suffer. Basically to be in their sport they would be forced to compete against the best. Boxing is different you can be huge star and not compete against the best. Just like what Floyd is doing. Look at this for example. Andre Berto has not signed yet to fight Shane. That is cuz they are offering him 750k. But, why would he take that amount to fight Shane? When in his last 2 fights he made the same amount fighting Collazo and Urango. That was a bad move on HBO to invest on Berto hoping to become the next star. Now we might miss out on him fighting Shane. Was it a good move for them to invest so much money on Arreola? What about the investment the made on Victor Ortiz was that a good move? What fighter is Showtime investing in right now? None they are investing on a tournament to bring the best fights. HBO should take note invest on boxing. On making the best. And, if you make the best fights a star will emerge. But, HBO want to invest on the stars? That is why they are cutting down 15million dollar out of their boxing budget.
2 pounds would not hav made a difference anyway. JMM was still gettin his ass whooped
absolutely!! Floyd walks around at pretty much WW, this fight wouldn't of even been close if marquez weighed more!!
He blow up to 161 on fight night!
He made weight for SMW division.
show me proof or kiss my a$$! i hate it when haters just throw up stupid $hit for no reason
What do you think investing in the next star translates too , its all good for boxing , its the stars of sport that actually carry the sport in the general public arena , its the same for all sports , no biggie here HBO is good for boxing .
No investing in the next star does not mean is good for boxing. Investing on the best fights is what is great for boxing. HBO investing on stars and giving them what they want hurts boxing. Look at all the money they invested to Arreola for what? What are they getting in return for the Andre Berto investment? They are investing on Dawson. His rematch with Tarver did very low and very low ratings. No bro investing in stars hurt boxing in the long run. Investing on the best fight is what helps the sport. HBO made such a mistake in investing on the next star. That they HBO are looking to cut 15million dollars of their boxing budget. Cuz they are not getting anything in return for their investment. Don't be naive bro look at the bigger picture. We might not have HBO B.A.D anymore cuz HBO are investing in the next big star. At the end boxing losses and us fans lose cuz it would be less boxing and less competitive fights.
That is such a dumb ass comment , HBO has invested in boxing more than any other organization in history , Floyd has generated more money than most in history now its because of HBO favoring him , you really have come out of your closet and turned into a nerdie little hater havent you , looks like Floyd busted your ass again and its just too much for you to handle lol .
They have the biggest boxing budget. But, they don't really invest in the sport of boxing. They invest in the next star. It's rare that you see a great fight on HBO. It happens but is rare. Corrales-Castillo was on Showtime. Marquez-Vazquez trilogy on Showtime. They declined Johnson-Adamek. They declined on Froch-Taylor. Which was a great fight. Instead they preferred to spent their money on a rematch of Dawson-Tarver. And, I like Dawson but that is my point. They don't invest for the great fights for boxing. They invest to get a big star. Think about it when they realized Taylor was not a big star anymore they dropped him. And, now Taylor in on a great tournament. And, who is showing that tournament? You guessed it, Showtme.
He said he was 145 hours before and thought he would weigh the same come weigh-in time...
Believe what you want...I don't give a shit too much myself...fight was not close at all...
Please Marquez was at his worst while Mayweather came stronger than ever.
Marquez moving up is a minus for him. Mayweather being bigger is a plus for him.
Add that up and Mayweather got what he wanted. A huge advantage.

1) eat a fat AIDS infected dick
2) your mom's a skank, your sister's a ho
3) HBO does not invest in boxing... they are always looking for the next DLH/SRL/etc... and the next cash cow... they aren't interested in the longterm interest of the sport... if you weren't a floyd-dick-eater, you'd know that.
4) HBO has invested heavily into floyd's career. Ross Greenburg sucks off floyd daily... just as he does berto.
5) stop dick-riding floyd you bitch-made fa99ot.
id love to see proof on this 161 bullshit..floyds never came close to 160
me too... too bad floyd pussied out of the fight night weigh in... he must've been 160 lbs or heavier hence no weigh in.
because he's "the suits" poster boy right now...can do no wrong....as long as he is pulling big ppv....
HBO has invested a lot of money in PBF... too bad they don't invest in the sport as a whole
yeah im ignored by AlHaymon/DIOS and cant post on his similar thread. i meant to say what's the point of that/his thread? to justify not making weight? to get a free pass? or to show how much of floyds dick can fit into DIOS mouth.
He said he was 145 hours before and thought he would weigh the same come weigh-in time...
Believe what you want...I don't give a shit too much myself...fight was not close at all...
More like he couldnt get the last couple of pounds off like he thought he could and decided to take the penalty in the pocket. Not sure but I think it was his first time missing weight. Im sure the two year layoff played a part in that. Dont know about being a poster boy, most people dont like him and wanted to see him lose. However after the PPV number he and Marquez put up, Im sure the "suits" are riding his d*ck now.
