I always hear how gamboa has kissed the canvas 6 times and all this junk, but i think most of the people that say this have not seen the fights cuz it seems like everyone is just repeating each other. As far as i been concerned he has only been knocked down once or twice!!!! that was against Darling Jimenez the same fight he was fighting with an injured hand but still the hand has nothing to do with being knocked down. let's see the knock downs so far against Dejesus it was a push dejesus got under him and pushed him and he fell it was a horrible call by the ref it wasnt even a punch, it reminds me of the push that cotto did on clottey was that ruled a kd i hope not lol against marcos ramirez it was a clean elbow to the face not even a punch so how is that considered a legitimate kd, and against roger gonzalez he lost balance and put his glove on the ground which could be a kd but it wasnt like he was actually hurt. My question is how has he been kd like 5-6 times like most people say you could maybe say 1 or maybe 2 at the most but what are people talking about?
Both Darling Jimenez and Marcos Ramirez are good fighters, they are just badly promoted. Neither one has fought again since their losses to Gamboa.
Don't play the A fighter is better than B fighter because he beat C fighter who previously knocked out fighter B Game....It doesn't work that way.
You are saying that Jimenez and Ramirez are better than De Leon
Jimenez has won a regional belt and Ramirez has not won a world title
while De Leon is 2 weight division champs.
You are comparing De Leon with Ramirez and Jimenez
Jimenez
*has not won any regional belt.
Ramirez
*has not won a world title.
De Leon
*beat Penalosa
*former WBO bantamweight
*former WBC super flyweight
*fought Caballero to 12 decision
Bautista
*has not won a worlt title.

Better than De Leon? Darling Jimenez, maybe even Marcos Ramirez.
Better than Peñalosa? none!
But in average, Gamboa has fought better opposition, do the math.

I couldn't even tell you who he fought actually. I remember him on FNF being put down a couple times due to his own recklessness.....still I think he won those fights by ko anyway, so it doesn't matter. He should be less cocky though when fighting better opposition in the future.
neither could i but i have seen him hit the canvas a few times in fact ill be back with names
I kinda stop reading when i read the bold part.
Knockdown
From Boxrec Boxing Encyclopaedia
A knockdown occurs when a boxer, after being hit by his opponent:
*touches the ring floor with some part of his body other than the feet
*has any part of his body outside the ropes
*is hanging on the ropes helplessly or
*is judged to be in a semi-conscious state and unable to continue fighting.
2:02,how the hell was that a KD? watch the replay, study what your talking about before posting
doesn't juanma do the same post-de leon? :haha:.
At least Juanma fought a real champion.
Gamboa is the interim champion, so he aint even a full champion.
The only legitimate KD of his career was against Jiminez and Gonzalez, against Jiminez it was partly Gamboas fault with the way he turned his feet, sometimes his speed works against him, against Gonzalez,it was a great shot,Gamboas glove hit the canvas,he got up,didnt look hurt at all,and actually put an ass whooping on Gonzalez the same round, something he usualy does
The DeJesus fight was one of the worst calls ever,it was the most blatent push ive seen, the only other time he was KD properly was against Ramirez, but that was an elbow, which the replays show
Gamboa has been KD twice in his career, and has never actually looked in danger
Luis12, have you seen Gamboa's last 2 fights? I don't think so bro...
His defence has improved a lot, he's a diferent fighter now, only the cyclone is still there when needed.
Gamboa has fought better oposition than Juanma, admit it!
De Leon and Penalosa?
who is better than those 2??
Gamboa was never hurt in any of those fights, it took him literally 1 second or less to get back on his feet. Then when he did he whooped the shit out of his opponents. Atleast he didn't get hit alot against journeymen and lose a couple of rounds like Lopez and Cabarello have.
Every fighter Gamboa fought, he whooped there ass. They were afraid to throw punches at him, because he would counter their ass and whoop them a new asshole.

Nah, neither have fought world class guys and have both been fighting fringe contenders. Juanmas resume is better purely because De Leon is on it.
