I've never seen Santiago fight, but I've heard people say he got robbed against Luevano. Even if Cotto beats Pacquiao, he will still have those same monsters to deal with at 147 and 154 isn't a horrible division with guys like Dzinziruk, Martinez, and hopefully Kirkland being back next year. Cotto probably can't stay at 147 forever. So his career is coming to a close pretty soon and he even said so himself. So can Santiago carry the mantle? We know Juan Ma cannot.
Well, he's really good but he should be more active. I think there's a few fighters that look very promising but it could take a few more years to develop. My favorites local prospects are Kenny Galarza and Eliezer Gonzalez.
Santiago vs. Luevano was an exciting fight. Totally took Luevano out of his gameplan.
Hmmm...to answer ur question... yes. I do believe Santiago could carry PR on his back.
He's an exciting guy! Very blood and guts style.
I don't think he got robbed against Luevano. But I do think Luevano is ducking the rematch.
Yeah, but do you think Santiago may be the next big thing in PR boxing?
Its too early to write off JuanMa...he had one mediocre performance and you want to write him off? C'mon...let the dude mature in the ring, 2010 will show what JuanMa is about. I think after '10 you can give a fair and accurate opinion on him
