Soto could've been the one to do it and unify a couple of titles. That's not to say we can't have an all Mexican clash between Salgado and Soto. But the Linares fight would've held more prestige because of Linares being hyped up as the next Golden Boy and being undefeated. I know Linares and Guerrero called Soto out. And I don't understand why Arum won't get him any of those fights because I think he could beat Guerrero and he could've definitely have beaten Linares. But now one of those fights are down the drain.
First off, Linares isn't even a big name. Yes, a Soto-Linares fight would be a terrific matchup on paper, but, that fight would not even fill out half the MGM Grand if they were to put that fight on.
Nah, Linares lost, so what, it's up to him to put himself back together and prove that he just had a bad day. If Khan can do it, yadda, yadda.
Maybe I'm making that fight to be bigger than what it really was. But why doesn't Soto and Guerrero get it on now? There is nobody for Soto to fight at 135 besides Valero, and we know what's up there.
