great post M
Thanks, I don't want to sound like I'm hating on Lopez, well maybe a little bit, lol but too many good fighters are getting shafted. Lopez winning is not really a ripoff he might have deserved it but Matagwa won't be in the ring with him again that's for sure and a lot of fans would love to see them do it again, I know I would. I don't think they are going to step up the comp for Lopez anytime soon because of Arum and his need for more money.
I guess it's just me liking to watch great fights and not really thinking about their investment or the business end of things, shame though.
I just dont see how people not you ,but some peope say Lopez is better than Cotto..Cotto is a warrior and a true elite fighter.Lopez not so much he looked 1 dimensional last night imo
Im not trying to flame but when someone out of the blue gives you all you can handle and you escape by an eyelash just give him a rematch
you and I both know you can be ahead for all of a fight but in the 12 round with 10 seconds left get KO'd that was about to happen to lopez if there were 1 more min in that fight. he was clinching when the ref told him to brake he wouldn't let go
I cant believe people say Juanma is better than Cotto.
Juanma is good but not on Cotto's level. Juanma did not have much defense last night. He was very sloppy in his punches. He thought that Mtagwa was not going to take his punches. Juanma is trying to imitate Tito but Tito box very well. Tito threw his jab always and keep people off. Juanma just went Victor Ortiz and got caught very clean. Juanma has a good chin. It took 4 clean punches to have him hurt.
I don't care for a rematch because it won't happen. Arum knows that his guy got exposed a bit, they only chose Matagwa in the first place because he has experience and 12 losses on his record. After last night, they saw how dangerous Matagwa was. The score was kind of crap because the way I judged that fight, Lopez was the sure fire favorite with a 92% ko rating and he should have put Matagwa away in a couple of rounds- that's why the betting odds were that the fight would not go past 7 rds.
Matagwa got tagged by shots, sure no denying that. The problem was that the punches did not hurt him and it looks like he has a balance problem anyway so he always looks like he is getting wobbled when he really isn't. Lopez was getting hit constantly with right hooks and straights and his face showed the beating he took at the end of the fight (all swollen with knots on his cheeks and the side of his head). Matagwa had Lopez backpeddling for the first time ever in his career and had him wobbled several times.
Lopez, in my opinion, has been protected by Arum and won't be put in with any against any tough competition like Gamboa, Caballero, Valero or anyone that stands a legit chance of beating him. I personally would like to see a rematch but did not even vote because the rematch will never happen and the greatest fights out there in any division won't happen because Arum is in charge of matchmaking; I don't like him and think he is evil in the flesh like Don King. The man makes me want to laugh every time he opens his crooked mouth. Hell, maybe Lopez deserved to win but the score of the last judge is just the latest in a long line of orchestrated conspiracies to ensure victory for the money making prospect, in this case, Lopez. Honest judging is a thing of the past IMO

great post M
he had a off night but it was a clear win. I would like to see a rematch. I am a boxing fan but why give a rematch to a person that did not bring anything except a fight?
The guy is the challenger. He did not put any title on the line.

there needs to be a rematch asap and whats up with the scorecards 116-111?

Oc all I'm saying homie is if Lopez had an off night why doesn't he prove it in a rematch?
when mayweather faught castillo in there 1st fight mayweather won, but not convincingly ..what did mayweather do after that? gave him a rematch and dominated
thats all lopez has to do, prove that the fight against roger,he was off his game thats it,I know roger's not as talented as castillo but roger gave you're boy hell and was bout to knock him out
you're boy won but lost the battle

im guessing you only score the fight only on one round?? the only 2 rounds that Mtawga dominated hands down were 11th and 12th nothing else.

what round? cause the only thing i saw was a blown call by the ref roger never fell after that
you're boy on the other hand was on queer street lookin 4 a place to fall and holdin on 4 dear life

You can give him rounds just for being the aggressor and pushing the entire fight. Withou Mtagwa doing so it would never have been a fight.
you dont score a fight because he is aggressive.
some of the round Juanma landed 100% more than Mtagwa for example
Outlanded rounds by 100%
round 1,2,3,6,9
Don't tell me that you land twice more punches than you opponent and you lost those rounds
what about the other one that he landed and they were call slipped??
what round? cause the only thing i saw was a blown call by the ref roger never fell after that

I had Lopez up a round going into the last round. I personally thought a draw would've been fair. How does that scorecard define what happened in that fight? Explain that to me please.
it should have been a draw...... Lopez did'nt knock down roger that was a slip a miss call by the ref
the guy came out and said that he made it up.
juanma dominated most of the rounds. juanma outlanded matgwa by 13 punches or more in 8 rounds. plus the knock down
more like slip
Of course he did'nt win he was never meant to win. Why is it that Mtagwa had to score a KO to win but Lopez did'nt have to do shit but the score cards say it was one sided? Mtagwa could'nt win there was never a chance for him to win. So for 12 rounds Mtagwa tried to take Lopez out and that was the whole fight Mtagwa chasing Lopez down. So because he could'nt stop him Lopez automatically gets the win? How fair is that? I saw the fight too clown.
X you make alot of good points
Exactly and Jaunma could'nt even admit it was a tough fight. At the end he actually had the nerve to act as if it was a one sided domination. The reason he acted like that is because he knew right from the start that as long as he did'nt get knocked out the judges were going to score it for him anyway. Jaunma, Top Rank and everyone involved already knew before the fight started who the winner would be if it went to the score cards. Jaunma's a crooked bastard remember when he had his people tell that guy that he would'nt leave the country alive if he did'nt take a fall for Lopez.

you cant compare mtagwa to castillo.
Castillo was the champ and lost. Mtagwa was the challenger and lost.
read my other posts in this thread
point is mayweather did not win convincingly in there 1st fight what did he do gave him a rematch and dominated
if lopez had an off night let him prove it

Juanma dominate most of the fight. He said that in the 12 he came out hurt from the 11th
and thats why you have to respect floyd jr,when he had such a close fight with castillo that he barely won,he gave him a remach and proved to the world that he was cleary the better man
I'm not a huge floyd fan
you cant compare mtagwa to castillo.
Castillo was the champ and lost. Mtagwa was the challenger and lost.
Lopez didn't lose. To me that says enough. Williams lost.
That's different.
yeagh but what did williams say? "I had an off night" were his exact words
well what did he do came back and beat quintana in the rematch... also Mayweather beat castillio in there 1st fight, but not convincingly what did he do? came back in the 2nd and dominated
all im saying is he won the fight but not convincingly had the fight been 1 more min roger would have been the new champ..if he had an off night prove it in a rematch and outbox roger.
