Cotto looks a lot bigger the more I look at him compared to Pacquiao there. I know he is still the heavier guy, but just look at his overall thickness and bones. I think Manny gonna really have to be on top of his game Nov. 14th! :boxing:
People banking on size winning are in for a rude awakening. Cotto is not that much bigger to where he'd win on size alone. Manny's faster on his feet and with his hands, and speed can make up for 10 pounds.
You may be right in this case but Cotto IMO is probably naturally 15 to 20 pounds heavier than Manny. When Cotto fights guys that are unable to take the physical punishment he shells out they get battered and broken. Manny to me appears to be in that category. So to win he needs to fight safe for the first part of the fight.
IMO, pac's movement is really unorthodox not off-balance. If off-balance, he would have no power in those punches. He has hurt, stunned, and KD opponents before on "off-balance" shots.
I would agree but all of his power comes from his legs. Cotto gets all his power from his legs as well but they do so differently. Cotto really sets up and uses his legs to turn over his body and punches, by doing this he is more stationary but he never really is off-balance. Manny, does have power but he uses his legs to jump into his opponents with his punches and then moves off to the side from the momentum, thus creating more angles and punching options. Granted, it is unorthodox and as I stated he has GREAT movement but his footwork is almost non existent because he's bouncing so much and he's constantly in the air. That slo-mo gif I see of JMM hitting Manny with that perfect counter left is a great example.

dude, 10+ lbs is a lot to over come... didn't you see the pbf/jmm fight? pbf was way too big for jmm... there's a reason for weight divisions... i think pac may have bitten off more than he can chew in this fight.

these two dudes genuinely like each other and respect each other... why can't their fans do the same?
are some other stans instigating the trouble?
That was pretty cool I liked how they were both respectful of each other. Pac looked noticeably smaller than Cotto there but he kept looking at Cotto and staring at him while Cotto made little eye contact. I think that Pac has more confidence regarding the fight but Cotto is trying to sell it better. Pac looks kind of crazy when he just sits and stares like that, who knows may be nothing but a good fight is in store for sure.
Nah Cotto is way bigger. I think this fight was a mistake for Manny and he better plan on moving in circles and going backwards for 12 rounds.

god i love them (no homo)
Yeah remember the Hatton pics from 2 months before the fight? Cotto won't be so much bigger in the ring. Pac is probably already 145 in that pic.

Both guys are total gentlemen and probably stepped out of their comfort zones to conduct this interview. It is unfortunate that HBO picked Kellerman to be the moderator because he contributed nothing. His cloaked insult at the end was his best work and should be viewed as unprofessional. What is really sad is that HBO should have spotted this during shooting and replaced Kellerman with someone who could have contributed through a little thing I call effective communication. Hell anyone on here could have read off prepared questions for these two guys. A professional is supposed to be able to think on his feet and can make or break an interview. Brian Kenny would have been great with something like this. Kellerman Sucks!
Manny certainly has great movement but I wouldn't necessarily equate that with footwork. He is constantly off-balance with shots and I think Cotto is going to eat him alive with that jab, I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto knocks down Manny with a jab as he did with Gomez and more importantly Clottey. Clottey weighs in on fight night around 165-170, he's almost 30 pounds bigger than Pacman and look what Cotto did when he caught him off-balance. Put Manny in there whose smaller all around, certainly doesn't have the chin Clottey does, and is off-balance constantly. Roach mentioned that the left hook would be easy to neutralize, that could very well be true but he's never said a word about that jab. That should be his biggest worry in this fight, not size, weight, or any punch other than that jab.
As for the vid... why is this not a full fledged 30 min episode on HBO? I mean really, have this as your final 24/7 episode or show it for free on HBO and PPV right before the fight even if it only brings in 1000 new viewers thats 50k you just made off those "free" shows. It gives a quick glimpse and each fighter from a personality stand point, add in a brief highlight vid of each fighter I'm sure there'd be people who'd buy from just a impulse buy and I'm 99.9% sure they won't be disappointed.

It's awesome because while they are respectful of each other, you can see it on their faces that when the bell rings for round 1, they are going to give each other everything they have.
Good point, but Pac does have pretty good in and out movement now. He's improved a lot. The foot in the air thing is a good point, he does do that. He just overextends himself to deliver his left hand in a quicker, more devastating motion. Not many fighters can take advantage of that mistake though.
Yup but you have to be way faster than him because he recovers very quickly. I do not know yet if Cotto's timing is on par with Jmm.

thats what i hate about this fight not enough fire power they are too nice to eachother one that doesnt even talk cotto and the other you cant even understand
both are down to earth without any hint of bullshyiet comments unlike you know who. :lol1:
You were the first dumbass to bring up floyd...i can't fuken wait
I have goosebumps. Cotto looks the thicker stronger man obviously, but Pacquiao is an animal. November 14th will be great. Two humble, exciting, nice guys battling for the welterweight championship? Doesn't get much better than that.
U got a point, so lets do this, lets call it Da special pac's footwork then, LOL!!
lol agreed. It's his own style that baffles the shit out of trainers like roger mayweather.
