not sure if this has been posted I didn't see any links
we were sent this link but I also noticed it on Showtime's site
very very good episode BETTER than the crap 24/7 has been putting on of late
love the negotiations and the fighter perspectives
You're correct. Ward's comments must have been after the Pudwill fight.
Still I'll believe in a schedule change when I see it. I still think a lot of prestige will be lost since the PR manchine rolled out to start the tournament said that the organizers had thought of everything from possible replacements to heavy fines.
But the locations of the latter fights were never set in stone. There were rumors, yes, most of them even originating at Showtime, but until contracts are signed for individual fights, changes to the schedule are a possibility
Those clips were from a September meeting in New York. You can tell because the clip says, "Two months later, in New York..." and Hershman and Goossen are discussing Ward's comments from his post-fight interview on 9/12, meaning the meeting occurred sometime after that fight.

My guess is that the clips are from the preliminary phases of the negotiations. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go public with the order of appearance if everything wasn't set in in stone (or at least inked.).

So did anyone who watched the vid pick up on the possibility that instead of Kessler/Taylor being each fighter's THIRD fight, it will be their next fight? With Taylor having to travel to Denmark? After traveling to Germany to fight Abraham?
The way it was originally mapped out, in the second round Kessler/Froch is in Denmark and Taylor/Ward is in the US.
But in their negotiations to make Ward fight out of the country at least once, somehow Taylor is getting screwed into fighting abroad twice in a row?
At least it sounded like that's why Dibella was calling Taylor.
Very confused...

I think a good amount will be changed.
It seems Taylor-Kessler is getting changed, and I think Herschmann seemed pissed that Ward came out and said all three of his fights are at home.
Froch also said he'd fight Kessler at City Ground, which during the next round (which is suppose to be in late winter/early spring), would be hard to do.
We have to remember only the first round was announced officially, all the other fights were based on rumors and specualtion.

Very interesting. Not quite as polished or slick as 24/7, but way more insightful. I'll make sure not to miss an episode, so long as you esteemed gentlemen can provide me with links!
Yeah, I like to chat with him...though, I can't stand Gary Shaw...he means shit he talk...honest but a bit too hard-nosed for my liking...
Gary has always been good to me in fact the interviews I did with perro and dawson were because of him bringing them to me.
I do see why people do not like him though just going by personal experience
Maybe I should have put
"Manny is a *** I have proof"
or
"Mayweather caught making out with Ellerbe"
in the title?
that probably would have worked.
Thanks
after Darchinyan Mijares me and my boy Luis who also covers boxing for bscene had dinner with Lou, Carl Moretti, and Steve Kim and Lou is a great great person to tell tales by far the most engaging promoter I have encountered.
