It seems to me that's what's taking place. I don't know if there has been a thread like this before, but the only major differences I see are of course weight, and stance. Bobbing/weaving side to side, Peek-a-Boo, throwing wild bombs from his hips. All trademarks Cus installed in Mike. Is this a reincarnation?
wahahahah Pac fighting like Mike get the f**k out of here with that shit. THEY FIGHT NOTHING ALIKE you are on crack if you think they fight a like . what next Pac fights like mohamed ali. Pac is Pac and that is where it ends
Personally I dont think he does, Mike was alot more commited in his bobbing and weaving.
Pacquiao tends to circle and jump in an out throwing straight punches and right hooks now, Mike stood at middle distance and made the opponent back up throwing uppertcuts, hooks and stiff jab.
I don't think they really fight anything alike, infact I don't think theres a fighters today that fights like Tyson.
Pac is nothing like Mike Tyson, dude. Even Cotto's style is closer to Tyson. Pac moves his head a lil bit but doesn't have a peek a boo stance and doesn't bob and weave.
Juan Diaz is the closest to D'amato's style.
Comparing Cotto's style to Tyson's made my head spin. How do you even begin to compare them? Pac doesn't bob and weave? All news to me.

i just LOL'd.
HEHEHE! I actually see it!
To some extent, I'm sure Roach and Pacquiao have been inspired by Mike Tyson but Pacquaio has a pretty unique style of his own.
Pac was inspired by Tyson to employ the bobbing and weaving because that's how Tyson got those looping punches in, inspite of the bigger opponent's height and longer reach. Tyson knew the angles.
Because Pacquiao is smaller, he looks like Tyson on fast forward. But Pac throws his punches straight.
Tyson was well capable of throwing straight, precise shots as well. A lot of his punches were looping, but he did have a STRAIGHT lead right that was quick as lightning.
Son? I think you're talking to the wrong person. Name one fighter who fights more similarly to Tyson than Pacman. WWE sucks.

I don't think he's copying, but he might be using Mike's style as a blueprint while at the same time playing to Pac's strengths of speed and foot work. Awhile back when Pac was fighting DLH, Mike came by the Wild Card Boxing Gym and gave Pac some pointers on how to fight bigger guys so maybe that's where your getting it from.
Interesting. I was unaware of any relationship between Pac and Mike. I was basing this merely on observation. Thanks for the info to further legitimize my point!

ok who's the closest active fighter that even faintly resembles...
Thank you very much, Bogler. I love people who put people down when they make a fair point. Now, putting people down when they say DLH was the favorite against Floyd is acceptable.
