Pac, he'll be the 1st 7 division champ.. Cotto, he'll be the guy to knock off the current #1 p4p.. Who do you think has the most to gain from this fight?
Pacman by far..
Not only the win but think about the loser scenario...
If Pacquiao losses, people will say Cmon the guy used to be a flyweight, he has achieved a lot, he was brave to take the fight etc...etc.....
If cotto losses, the guy was much bigger, he is done, he lost to a much smaller guy, he was overrated etc ... etc.....
I love pacman but I hope cotto wins, so we can have real Welters fight each other.
Pac will not gain much except respect and a lucrative fight that will set him for life with Mayweather. Cotto will regain some of his luster and get a better pound for pound ranking and probablya fight with Floyd. Many times guys like PAC already have a fight set in stone that will make them millions that could set them for the rest of there lives and there kids lives, and then they hit a stumbling block and lose millions. Cotto and Pac may sell but May and PAC is what everyone wants to see and will probably sell three million pay per view buys. This will set them both. If PAC doesn't understand that coming from his humbling background his misguided.

Pacman, for sure. Smaller guy, moving up so many weight classes, taking on a tough, hard punching/counter-punching opponent who only has a single loss on his record....yep, if Manny pulls this off, it'll put him in the top 30 all time greats, I'd say.
Both:
1) Pacquiao becomes the best of his era , hands down if he beats Miguel. He gets also a big money fight with Mayweather.
2) Cotto shuts everybody up and shocks all the boxing fans. He's finally getting the respect he deserved and wins a fight with Mayweather if mayweather grow some balls.
I think Pac will, just as far as excuses... if Cotto wins I see the biggest excuse that will circulate is Pac was too small and beat a bunch of smoke and mirrors fighters. (Drained Oscar, past it, overrated hatton)
If Pac wins then he beat a real proven welterweight... some excuses will circulate that Cotto is past his best, which I personally do not believe.. but even if Cotto IS past his best... the fact that Pac was fighting at 130lbs last March will override that.
I think Pac has more to gain... to prove himself this high up in weight.
Tough to call, but proabably Pac. 7 division champ and defeated a legitimate, in his prime, welterweight. That said, with how everyone is doubting Cotto, talking Pacquiao-Mayweather like Cotto isn't there, if Cotto wins it will be a big victory for him.
