But he is great! Seriously I love watching him, he is so big and goofy but he whoops everyones ass. He is so tall and never puts his hands up, sticks his face right out there at his opponent then pulls back and makes them miss. Most of all he throws his punches from his waist up, I think that is a big part of why he wins because he throws punches from every angle except straight so its hard to see the coming. Honestly he should be undefeated. The loss to Byrd was strange because even though he was in pain I figured he was up so far in the fight he could just throw one hand the rest of the fight and still win. He was whoopin up on Lewis until that massive cut stopped it and I think if that wouldnt have happened he would have beat Lewis. I think Vitali should be #1 HW and not his brother, but nothing against Wlad.
against Lennox he didn't fight the same way, his hands were up for the most part and he was aggressive.
Against Lennox, he wasn't very fast (well, he had long already entered his 30s) and his hands were quite low. Now, rewind back to '99, and this is the Vitali I can actually take pleasure in watching.
That is a fucking badass fighter if I ever saw one. Goofy he wasn't! :lol1:
He looked better (less goofy) in his younger days. I don't recall ever seeing him look as goofy as he did against Arreola (obviously just as effective though), I think a lot of it is he's age and he doesn't quite have teh legs & mobility he had a few years ago which makes him appear more goofy when he's runnin away from the ropes and moving side to side. haha
IMO in the fight with Herbie Hide, he looked very sharp and ready to go - there was no sloppy guard or clumsy legs. His hands were held at waist height, lots of mobility overall, and he actually looked like a "badass" as everyone calls him now.
That's the Vitali I'd like to see. But even against Lennox he'd already adopted the clunky, lumbering style we see today. I just don't see the appeal in it... although at the same time I can certainly understand why people rag on Wlad for his "boring" style. I don't find it boring - technical and patient, more like.
Roy Jones used to fight like that and get away with it in his prime.
Besides the hands held low, I don't see it myself. Jones always looked sharp and fluid in the ring (and still does, to a point), whilst Vitali looks just as the TS says - goofy.
Err Roy Jones used to fight like that and get away with it in his prime. Vitali has the added bonus of size but he's style resembles Jones sometimes. Ok before you guys jump on me I'm NOT saying Vitali is as skilled as prime Jones was.
I think a prime Roy would put up a better fight than either of the K-bro's recent opponents.
for this fight with arreola he used the same tactics as wlad uses when he fights pressure fighters, he was moving around a lot and picking arreola apart, I wated to see arreola on his ass but what u gona do.
I know right. Any other fighter that tried his style would get knocked out every time. Vitali is the man.

I just realised something - he fights similar to Froch. His hands are down, the shoulders are never squared up, those lanky-armed punches come from weird-ass angles, and the footwork is very flat and clumsy. Yet, behind all that there's a granite chin (albeit perhaps smoke and mirrors, since nobody besides Lennox and Sanders has ever got in close enough to test it) and deadly accuracy. Obviously he's very good at what he does. That I'm never going to deny, even though I won't hesitate to call it "pitiful" and "shit" if I so choose.
It works, sure, but damn it's ugly to watch. And contrary to what the mindless drones on here say, my criticism towards Vitali is not "hate" - it's just purely subjective opinion, from a stylistic point of view. I find younger bro a joy to watch because he's such a perfectly crafted boxer in the ring (the opposite of the attributes in my first paragraph), whilst Vitali makes me cringe because he does everything wrong... yet the results are always right. Believe me, I actually want to like what he does, but I find him incredibly frustrating to watch. Don't "hate" on me for that!
Fan = an appreciator of both a boxer's style and personality, within reason. Will openly acknowledge faults or other things that people may not agree with, and remains calm whilst discussing them. Is loyal to their fighter, but not to the point of being idiotic about it.
Nuthugger = someone who boasts mindless appreciation for a boxer, with an irrational and defensive disdain for anyone expressing criticism. Thinks they are a fan, but aren't doing their favourite fighter any favours by behaving in such a childish manner. In reality, not a true fan.
Hater = someone who dislikes both a boxer's style and personality. For whatever reason, this type of individual cannot appreciate anything about a particular fighter. Hence, the word "hate" is appropriate and accurate.
Critic = an admirer of a boxer's personality as well as what they do outside the ring, but may not enjoy their style inside of it. Here's where I fall into with regards to Vitali. So fuck off (you know who you pricks are).
LMFAO....he looks retarded as hell fighting...but DAMN i got to give him mad props...he affective as hell...Vit > Wald

his style is ugly but he knows how to use his height and reach.
