Cotto can stay on his defense all night and beat Pacquiao kind of how Floyd did to Marquez. Maybe not in a such a commanding way but I do believe that Cotto can utilize his jab to nullify Mannys attempts to fly in and out and when Cotto decides to pursue he will do so in a very calculated measured approach. I don't see him trying to bully manny or push him around the ring. He is going to pick his spots and hurt Manny when he can. Otherwise he will make Manny come to him and make him pay for it whenever he makes a mistake.
so cotto can outbox mosley but cant outbox manny.
i'm not saying a shut out either but get your heads out of your asses, cotto can win this by out boxing manny of manhandling manny.
cotto's not winning by outboxing manny....

It will be more competitive than a shut out I think, Cotto does have a good chance of winning though.

what miguel cotto defense are you referring to? dude gets hit often, and waaaay to often....if cotto wins, he wins by KO, he won't outbox manny.
i guess you didnt see the marquez fight,it wasnt that he couldnt hit floyd Marquez even said that everytime he hit floyd he couldnt even move him,he was too big
Of course he hit Floyd. But not much.
Like Floyd did to JMM? Yeah, right. Pac is way faster than Marquez, and Cotto is slower than PBF. Cotto's also way easier to hit than Floyd.

I see Cotto feeling him out for the first round and seeing what Manny's gameplan is so that he can adjust to it. Cotto will try and box early and once he's felt Manny's power he will probably decide to be more offensive if he realises Manny can't hurt him.
Even if Cotto loses he will probably expose *****s in Manny's armour.
I actually think Manny is going to make Cotto come forward and it will be Manny boxing. It really wouldn't surprise me if we see a very patient and calculating Pacquiao for the first few rounds.
I see it going a full 12. Cotto can pace himself. Sure Manny doesn't gas but if Cotto decides to stay in one place and absorb Mannys shots and can thwart his attempts at coming in and out at the speed of light he should be able to last. As long as Cotto takes the position of counter puncher and not the aggresor he will be fine.
