KLITSCHKO RUMORS
Hey Dougie what's crackin'?
I was just writing you to tell you about the gym rumors I've heard from my homey who is a trainer. He told me that Vitali has been looking real bad during sparring sessions. He told me that he was getting his ass whooped. Have you heard anything like that. Peace out. -- Jose
I’ve absolutely heard a few rumors about Klitschko’s training camp. I heard that sparring partner Lionel Butler was getting in his ass, and I heard that one of his knees is less than 100 percent, which has made it difficult for him train and spar.
However, just because Butler is giving Klitschko fits doesn’t mean Arreola can. Butler has mastered the forgotten art (among heavyweights, anyway) of bobbing-and-weaving. He’s 5-10 and he makes himself 5-6 as he gets in close and gets off to the body with both hands. I don’t think Arreola can do that. However, if Chris can tap Klitschko’s body, he can hurt the giant. I’ve seen it done to both Klitschko’s in sparring session from 2004 when both trained in L.A. (and as is the case with Butler, it wasn’t a world-beater who troubled them, it was Dominican fringe contender Fernely Feliz, who knew how to get low and get inside). - Doug Fischer
I heard Lamont Peterson whooped FMJ before he fought Marquez, that Maywether looked slow on the pads and that Marquez looked terrific on the speed bag. We all know what happened.
This is true. I don't think the article specified when the sparring match occurred. Was it in the beginning or towards the end? If it was towards the end it would be a little more concerning...although still, Chris isn't 5'10.
And I'm not sure about the sparring partner but Chris isn't agile and doesn't have the head movement needed.
Now does that mean Chris can't pull this off? No...but he is a heavy underdog for a reason. He is fighting Vitali.
Some fighters spar 12 round with 3 round different fighter.
many does that.
but the thing is that you cant really tell alot in a single sparring but in case of Nassem Hamed he was getting beatin up in every sparing and didnt look good.
it was Lamont Peterson actually, and there were multiple stories regarding those sparring sessions with Mayweather...I never heard any 'Mayweather got his ass kicked', more like 'They had some well fought sparring sessions'.
besides, I remember Mayweather busting sparring partners' noses and garbage, didnt he? I think they had some video of a bloodied sparring partner.
Lionel Butler isnt the only guy IVe heard of that has been giving Vitali problems. another poster came on here one day and said that a younger contender whos about 6'5 has been giving Vitali a lot of problems too.
I hope you are around after the fight.
I will be and you and the others predicting a blowout will look like clowns. Like I've said before, I'm not directly predicting an Arreola win, but the fight will be competitive up until one of them get tired. Unlike you, I'm not so sure Arreola will be the first to tire, Vitali's gonna have to dig deep. You can quote me on it.
We hear this shit before every big fight and it matters about 50% of the time which means it actually doesnt mean shit.Hatton got beat up in sparring and lost, Mayweather got beat up in sparring and pitched a shutout.
50% aren't good odds?
Mayweather was rumored to get his ass beat by undefeated contender Anthony Peterson. Who was Hatton getting beat up by?
And Vitali is getting beat by a 40+ year old journeyman/contender.
Yup....not Chris.
Chris isn't going to fight like that. Chances are he is going to attack attack attack....
now that i seen that
arreloa gonna get that ass tatted

I talked to the master chief yesterday and here's my prediction (if anyone cares):
I think it's going to be a pretty interesting fight and would even say that you can compare it to Vitali's outing against Corrie Sanders 5 years ago - question is: Does Arreola have a better stamina than the South African part-time golfer? If the answer is "yes" we'll have one of the best heavyweight bouts on our hands since Brewster - Krasniqi. Ok, Arreola doesn't have that dynamic right hook that troubled Vitali early on vs. Sanders but that straight right of Arreola might very well give us an even fight for at least 6-7 rounds. The other question then would be if Vitali in the shape he was back then to abide the storm.
So cheers and enjoy as you might very well regret missing it ;)
Could be a bad sign, Hatton was getting worked over in sparring before Pac, and we all know what happened there. But on the other hand, it is sparring and the guy has a different style to Arreola, and plus these rumours could have surfaced during the hardest period of Klitschko's training camp where he was training very hard and under a big workload, so we'll see

I'd never seen him before, but Butler's pretty nasty with the head and upper body movement. This should be over 15 years old though.
Yup....not Chris.

some people just look at one sparring fight and they say he ****ed up.
Sometimes a person doesnt come 100% everyday it happen to everyone you and me as well as Vital and Mayweather.
They are human after all.

I think Vitali ko's him in 2 rounds, and maybe I'm being generous.
It would make me happy if I was dead wrong though.
Many seem to be leaning towards this:
He's 5'10" and whooping his 6'7" ass ? That's gangsta.
There are lots of advantages with being smaller. Watch a lot of Tyson fights and you'll see why. Shame Tyson couldn't prove it on the elite level against guys like Lennox. Training has a lot to do with it. A smaller fighter has to be in tip-top shape and in his prime to give himself the best chance.
You make yourself smaller so the Taller fighter has to reach down. When he does this, it leaves him vulnerable. At 5'10+ you are also right in range for the mid-section and tall fighters like that have a big mid-section to pound. Tall fighters like to use their jab and clinch to steady the pace because their stamina isn't usually as good as smaller fighters so little fighters can apply heavier pressure with speed, agility, power and strength of their own...pounding the mid section to tire the opponent and get his hands down and his head hunching over (if hurt) to smack him in the jaw in a combo of body to head.
Many tall fighters can also be knocked off balance. Only some have very good balance over a certain height.
All that said and getting back to the topic: Chris isn't 5'10 and he isn't agile or fast.
