Based on his skills....this is the correct call taking into consideration the rules for being on the list....he is "active" again....he was previously p4p#1....and his skills at all the weights he has fought at have remained intact...barely edged out Pacquiao though....by 1 vote.
Can't wait for Nov. 14th.....maybe it'll be a tug-o-war between Floyd and Manny for #1.....until they fight each other.
So from what people are saying....Yahoo's P4P list.....which is almost identical to RING's...cept the fact that on RING's Floyd is #2......they are not credible anymore? The list doesn't mean anything? But yet when Pacquiao and Marquez were #1 and #2 it was a good gague of their toughness and greatness? I hate "Money" as much as the next guy....but c'mon....don't hate the "list" just because he's back on it....yeah....he fought a blown up lightweght....and dominated just like everyone though he would...I personally thought he would've KOd him by round 6.....but Floyd fits the "criteria" for being on the list. Can't deny that....hate it all we want...but can't deny it.
Why do people take these lists so seriously?
Although I personally don't think beating a lightweight in a welterweight fight warrants an automatic jump back to the number one spot after two years away from the sport, it is what it is, and in the end these lists aren't worth a damn thing, except for a few hundred threads on Boxingscene.
C'mon guys...the skills are undeniable...and as much as I hate to say it....P4P...Floyd should be at the top of everyone's list. It is not P4P most exciting fighter list....P4P is based on...well everyone knows what its based on....things are back to the way they were before he retired...Floyd at #1 and Manny in a close #2. Should be end of story......SHOULD BE....hehehehe
I have different criteria for the P4P than I do for the weight rankings.
What is your criteria? Note: I want Mayweather to work his way up. I also want Mayweather as an under dog against Pacquiao, incase that goes down.
we knew he was p4p king all along ;)
duh .... voidness have not fought paco yet ... and paco is going to fight a legit welter ... voidness did defeat a legit flyweight...i mean legit blown-up-flyweight-to-become-a-welter ..... LoL
Anyway...................I think the Bears got a chance to get to the Super Bowl, what you guys think. Boxing is out of his league, let's c others sports.....
Man that's close 266 pts. for FMJ and 265 pts for Pac.
Yahoo! Sports' P4P ranking uses a point system with 28 correspondents. 10 pts for #1, 9 pts for #2, 8 pts. for #3....... 1pt for #10. Judging by their point totals:
FMJ got 15 #1 votes, 12 #2 votes and 1 #3 votes. 150 + 108 + 8= 266.
Pac got 13 #1 votes and 15 #2 votes. 130 + 135= 265.
