I do. The reason why I am making this thread is because I sometimes hear from the really loyal Cotto fans that Cotto softened Margarito up for Mosley. Well, you can apply that logic just the way I layed it out as well. Mosley landed nearly 60% of his power shots on Cotto and in my view, layed out the blue print of how to beat him. Pressure, pressure, and more pressure. The rounds that Cotto won against Mosley other than the 11th were the ones of where he was being aggressive and taking the fight to Mosley in the early part of the fight. Margarito probably watched the Mosley-Cotto fight and saw that Cotto fatigued at the end, and followed the script. This is one reason why I am skeptical of plaster being used in that fight.
Another thing too is that Mosley would stand a way better chance of beating Mayweather because his stamina is a lot better than Cotto's. His mouth sometimes appears to be open in between rounds, but I don't think I've ever seen Mosley in a fight of where he didn't close out the late rounds strong. Cotto has always gassed in the late rounds against the best fighters he fought in Mosley, Margarito, and Clottey. If Cotto beats Pacquiao, it won't change my view on who the most dangerous fight for Floyd is.
I don't think so but let's say he did.......you could say the same thing about Margarito in his war with Cintron on their 2nd fight.
Margarito obviously took some punishing shots against Cintron too even though he dominated the fight.
Mosley was starting to come on against Cotto, and that's why Cotto is a beneficiary of twelve round fights. He would've been gone in a 15-rounder. He won the 11th but was spent in the 12th because he let Mosley practically chase him out of the ring.
Cotto did not dominate Mosley in that fight at all. I also seen Cotto stole a couple of rounds at the end. It was Mosley's fight to win and he didn't step up when he needed to.
I guess you dont know shit on how to score a fight then!!!!!
I saw your agenda from miles, you just whinning for Mosley!!!
Relax Al Bundy, Mosley got the props he deserved for KOing Margarito. But he idnt beat Cotto and the shne of the Margo KO is gone!!!!!
Did you just call him Al Bundy?!
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
LMAO!!!!!!!!
Just trying to make it seem like Mosley somehow beat Cotto, wich didnt happend!!!!!
Cotto won 8 rounds and Mosley 4. Even Stevie Wonder, could see that!!
Co sign and that's being generous coz Shane Mosley didn't completely own more than 2 or 3 rounds in this fight. The thing you could say would be that Cotto won 7/5, that's the best situation for Mosley.
LMAO!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry I don't have your Rican sun glasses on, but I scored it for Sugar. And it mystifies me why this poll is so lop-sided. It is a legitimate and fair question, because people have always said and still do say that Cotto softened Margarito up for Mosley which I think is bullshit. Cotto wasn't the only tough fight that Margarito had in his career. I thought he took more punishment in that fight against Antonio Diaz.
Nope, in any Case Cotto sofetened up Margarito for Mosley.
Cotto_Margarito was a case of Cotto being Cocky and not having a good game plan and he payed for it.(and ofcourse the plaster) but regardles Cotto fought the wrong fight period!!!
I agree my man. I also believe that Mosley had no gameplan against Cotto. He seen that Corley, Zab, and Torres hurt Cotto. So he figured he would take Cotto out easily. So he suprised Mosley with his boxing skills when Shane thought it was going to be a brawl. I had Cotto winning 7-5. That was the best version of Cotto
Probably. But Cotto needs only 2 things to KTFO Margarito, walk Forward and tie him occasionally!!!!!
Simple as that!!!!!
I'd like to see him implement a little more movement against Margarito. I think he would have won the first fight if he'd have done that.
I actually think that Cotto took more punishment against Mosley than Margarito did against Cotto, but that's just me.
I don't know if its JUST you, but it certainly isn't me.
I know Shane had his moments against Cotto but Cotto looked to me to be straight up beating Margarito up at times in their fight, particulalry in the first half of it.

I agree to an extent.
I think Cotto underestimated the amount of punishment Margarito could take. He was getting caught in the first half of the fight but he just figured he was landing so much on Margarito that it wouldn't matter. If they fought again I think Cotto would box more and focus more on defence.
NO plaster softened him up for his comeback in the second part of the fight. Mosley vs Cotto was a great fight but Cotto had a great defense, it was not Barrera vs Morales.
