Jones vs hopkins predictions

Im taking Roy based on styles... Roy has trouble with pressure volume punchers, they are too much for him at this point... from a chess match standard I like Roy... each throwing one or two shots at each other. Bernard will make Roy look better because he wont be pressuring too much or volume punching at all... Roy will have to set and get his punhces off which are still fast. On top of the fact that by February, the Hopkins match will be roys 5th fight in 15 months, the most active he has ever been in his career... and Hopkins will be 45 with a 17 month layoff... one of the longest of his career, if not the longest. If Bernard wins it's certainly nothing shocking, but this is how I see the fight going.

I don't think Hopkins will land as often as Calzaghe did against Roy because he isn't as quick and likes to pace himself. Calzaghe fought Roy at a very high pace and i think that wore Roy out over the fight. Hopkins will not fight that style. If it's a tactical fight with both fighters pot shotting with not a lot of fast pace action, Roy still holds the speed advantage and i can see him pulling out a boring decision.

Roy by SD Roy is still very capable against fighters with low punch rate where it becomes more of a tactical fight. At this point of his career it's hard for him to deal with a quality high pressure fighters like Calzaghe or a Glen Johnson because his legs are not what they once were. But Hopkins is more of a tactical fighter who doesn't punch in volume. This will give Roy opportunities to get set and get his punches off. Calzaghe never gave Roy time to set because he was all over him every minute of every round. Im actually leaning towards a UD for Roy instead of spit decision, Roy can set all he wants, will he be able to land shots even Calzaghe ducked. I know Hopkins will land on Roy.

i can see why this fight would happen,but am i the only one who isnt 2 bothered whether it does or not? seems like a lot of guys in here getting hard at the thought (not meaning you),whereas it dont do that for me Jones is my boy and I think he'd get fuked up, so I sure as hell don't wanna see it. From a neutral's perspective, I don't think it is going to be a very enjoyable fight to watch. It will be cagey and tactical and defensive. Boring.

Prime for Prime Jones wins 8-4 or 7-5 close, but clear but unanimous decision, right now, Hopkins kicks his ass, probably stops him.

LOL I dont think Roy is gonna get caught with that slow ass right hand.. His reflexes arent the same but he will still be able to stay away from BHops only offensive arsenal.. Roy could actually pot shot Bhop for a decision.. Bhops is slow as shit, and Roy is still fast as shit.. STYLES MAKE FIGHTS I know styles makes fights. And IMO, Jones' doesn't have it in the legs anymore. Yeah, he's still got the hand speed but from what I've seen recently, he lays on the ropes more and puts his hands up.

Jones has done well to make money and put on good shows after the Calzaghe fight, but Sheika and Lacy are nowhere near the level of Hopkins. hopkins by wide UD or possible late stoppage if hopkins presses on the gas. hopkins has a severe footspeed advantage over roy at this point in their careers. roy will not be able to deal with the angles and feints. roy also likes to fight on the inside more than he used to which is also a bad idea considering hopkins is one of the best inside fighters to date.

jones for sure.. LOL, yeah of course. How could Roy not win this fight right? I mean, he's been dominating nothing but A class fighters like Lacy and Sheika for years while Hop hasn't beaten anyone with a pulse. Total no-brainer.

A bunch of people are gonna come in here and say Hopkins easily without really thinking it out... Styles makes fights.. And stylistically this is a bad fight for Hops. I would favor Roy by a decision.. Roy has trouble with pressure..Something Bhop doesnt do anymore. In the middle of the ring, Bhop doesnt have a chance.. Roy is waay to quick and slick for Bhop.. The fight would look very similar to when they fought in the 90s.. Except a lot less punches thrown.. ROY UD

I predict another boring fight. lol Still would like to see them in the ring again though. So hard to pick a winner, but with the fight being fought exclusivley in the centre of the ring, as it should do, I have to give the edge to Jones.
