This thought struck me the other day. JMM vs Pac 3 is seen as a competitive fight by most people.
The two are both clever fighters, with not majorly different sizes, reach, and ability.
Now I previously thought Pac vs PBF would be very competitive and I'm sure most rightly do.
But there's a lingering question that's beggered for, and that's if JMM can't win a few rounds then how does Pac go on to do disproportionately better by winning?
I know styles makes fights. Hell I don't much like Floyd and like me the Pacman. But in all honesty ODL and Hatton were awful in those fights and I can't help but feel there's a slight false hope in Pacman as something slightly more than he is, even...super hero.
I've gotta say, PBF wins a UD IMO.
Thoughts?
If Pac can get past Cotto then you cant say that Mayweather is to big. Pac beat the shit outta De la Hoya even if he was weight drained and if he beats Cotto then he's proven that he can fight at the higher weight. Plus both Cotto and Oscar are bigger than Mayweather so there shouldnt be any excuses.

jmm doesn't carry the weight well....
pbf/pac is another mismatch. pbf is too big.
I'd still have Pac winning a 3rd fight at any weight - and a UD at that.
Pac is on the up and JMM on the down.
But not to any major major degree. These are both top elite fighters. They would be a competitive fight at 140.
My problem is now believing that Pacman somehow does better to huge proportions to win. I can't see it happening, can't visualise it so much anymore.
JMM may have been a bit blown up but he's a talented fighter whom arguable beat Pac before. He couldn't so much as win a few rounds against a Mayweather who'd been out of action for years.
Pac faced two guys at higher weights whom's reputations were seriously based on name, money and size, and they just did not in any shape or form, show up fight night.
How does he whom has followed through in similar weight classes, is similar in size, reach, ability - roughly speaking - beat the established best really in PBF - in even better form?
Pac does not beat Mayweather, it's just not happening. Heck I'm a Pac fan and PBF almost hater, but over optimism has been realised. It's not happening as much as many of us would love to see it happen, that doesn't make it so.
if jmm can make it to 140 ~ 145 ... ahahah ....
after all jmm is the one chasing pac ... pac does not need jmm ... there is nothing to proved with jmm ... only fmj does have something to prove by fighting jmm ... maybe a rematch
jmm vs fmj part 2 ... this will be a great fight .... :thumbsdow
Pac at 140/147 is still a beast. Maybe even more so that he isn't weight draining himself so much.
Marquez at 147 clearly showed he doesn't have his speed and power. I mean he had to eat tacos to gain weight.
The Marquez that nght would have gotten KO'd by any of the top welters including Pac.
A third fight with me would not be close at anything above 135. Heck Pac is a much better fighter now and has learnt to use his right hand aswell as move around. In the other fights he came forward which suits Marquez's style. He won't come forward VS a bigger man in Cotto and Floyd.
I don't know if Pac can beat Floyd or Cotto, but then I don't know if Floyd could beat Pac or Cotto either. All 3 are close fights because of their size, style, physical attributes etc...
Honestly, I don't see a 3rd fight between Marquez and Pacquiao as competitive. I'm gonna be real, Pacquiao would have badly beaten Marquez, one Mayweather faced.
