Sulaiman just dropped the bomb!!
First JC Chavez will fight Duddy in December (the opponent could change if Duddy somehow loses his next fight in October)
And after that in his first fight in 2010, he will fight for the Junior Middleweight WBC World Title versus the Marvelous Argentinian, Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez!!!
His last fight, GREAT PERFORMANCE versus a guy that was going to fight Vernon Forrest, had never been stopped and went the 12 rounds with Yorgey (the guy who KO Ronald Hearns and will be fighting "El Perro" Angulo on HBO).
EDIT
He may fight First the Southpaw from Brooklyn, "The Iron Horse" Sechew Powell that KO Cornelius "K9" Bundrage in 1 round, the fight should be on the Pacquiao vs Cotto undercard!

Is he fighting duddy in december or early next year whats the story with that???
I still don't know that, apparently Arum will put Chavez in the Cotto - Pac undercard to boost buys from the mexican market.
But the only way for the fight to be on the December will be if Chavez beats Powell quickly, if he goes to war with him, then it will be natural to postpone the tentive day of the match with Duddy for a few months.
BREAKING NEWS!!!
I just heard that Junior may fight a Southpaw from Brooklyn on the Cotto-Pacquiao undercard on November 14.
That would make more sense in preparation for a possible match up for the World Title with the Marvelous One from Argentina.
Junior has experience with southpaws, he has fought Jose Celeya (31-3, 16 ko's) and Ray Sanchez (20-1, 15 ko's) the records of course were when he faced them.
But i wonder if this fight happens, what will be of his match with Duddy in Cancun on December 19.
Powell vs. Bundrage
Sechew Powell, 25-2 (15 KO's) -- The Southpaw that KO'd Cornelius "K9" Bundrage in 1 round.

wow... finally...
that fight really impresed me...nice ko..
honestly chavez does have a nice style u gotta admit...... but his past performance were not that great.... lets see wat happens..
I know, this is his only Amateur fight
there is no reason why senior should've allowed junior to turn pro without much experience..
I dunno what they were thinking.
geez, someone like Martinez would be the last guy I would want to fight for a world title if I was Chavez Jr...
If Jr can get past Duddy and Martinez(unlikely) then hes progressed a hell of a lot more than any of us thought.
a thumbs up to Jr/Arum for fighting someone who seems to be pretty avoided.
Its Darren sutherland irish olympic mw bronze medalist.
I'm really, really stupid. I did know about that, but since he hadn't made a professional splash yet, I didn't have him in my mind as a boxing icon.
Well anyway, tough loss to deal with for the Irish. RIP.
Duddys back with his old trainer .... so its back to brawling and i think he will give jcc jnr a hell of a fight....There is no way in hell hes knocking duddy out.
It will be a pretty sick fight for the fans, and thanks for the info on John's trainer, i didn't knew that.
:boxing:
You guys should give him a break. Too much emphasis on losses nowadays. If Chavez loses to Martinez then it will be a great experience and learning curve for him, he can come back even stronger. It's only his first loss.

Who is that in your signature? I wasn't aware of whoever it was dying apparently, because I don't recognize him.
It's good to hear that Arum's (me) finally matching JCCJ up against Duddy after hyping these two guys up for several years. I wonder what weight it will be at- middleweight or junior middleweight?..
I'm pretty sure it will be in the JR Middleweights

Why is jr fighting duddy in in mexico?IMO this fight should be in vegas or newyork more money will be made...Sergio martinez is a good fight for julio..if julio loses its better then losing to martinez then sum bum...I wonder if HBO would show this fight.
That's right it's much better to lose versus the Marvelous than with some bum.
With this fight Junior will silence his Critics because he will be fighting one of the Best Boxers in the World.
And he will not be exposed because, Martinez is a boxing God, this fight will give him great experience.
He's 23, so he will have more chances after this fight, he will have more experience thanks to the Marvelous ONE.,
And that experience will give him his World Championship in the Future.
