I'm so sick of hearing this. As paranoid and defensive as Floyd is about being asked perfectly NORMAL questions, I think his fans are getting just as defensive for him.
HBO commentators give Floyd the same credit as any other fighter. The only thing gripe I can see that HBO commentators have against Floyd is that he hasn't fought the big names in his divisions that everybody wants to see him fight. Is that so horribly biased?!
In fact, HBO commentators don't even go as far as to say what I personally think: Floyd's resume needs to catch up to his mouth.
They aren't exactly biased but they do have their favorite fighters.
Lampley - Cotto, Barrera
Merchant - Pacquiao
Kellerman - Paul Williams, Floyd (somewhat)
Steward - Cotto
kellerman loves floyd idk why tho he always defends him and brings him up no matter who the other guys talk about....
and when floyd is saying stupid things like calling them racists because hes so damn insecure he wants special treatment? hes such a female

WTF???? HBO goes out of its way to lick floyd's butt. they pay him to fight uncompetitive fights and you guys complain???!!!
you guys gotta be kidding me the way this poll is going.
Really? Firstly, how can some of you say that HBO is racist or whatnot when Floyd mentions race more than all of the HBO staff combined? Floyd is the one who thinks he has a target on his back and always assumes people are attacking him.
If Floyd has a boring fight like he did against Baldomir and Judah, what do you expect? The fans were booing DURING the event! What does that tell you about how entertained the crowd feels? At one point or another everyone (including Larry Merchant) gave Floyd props for his skill and ability. I wouldn't say its biased for him to say that the fight is boring WHEN THE CROWD IS BOOING THE EVENT. That's just stating the obvious.
The fact is you hear HBO criticize many fighters for their performances. Lots of times I'm surprised at how harsh the questions are that they ask the loser in the post fight interview. They seriously rub it in. Watch the Pavlik-Hopkins post fight interview over again. They seriously pour salt in Pavliks wound. They've said Hopkins was boring many many times during his fights too.
they are biased, they for one thing say floyd is the welterweight king, they call him the second best fighter pound for pound even though his shitty resume aint good enough to give him that claim, if anything hopkins, cotto and mosley should all be ranked ahead of this american fighter who has never beaten a ranked all time great in his prime or his size, instead he fights bruseles , baldomir and the big show,LOL, nyahahahaha, then he retires and gets ranked ahead of guys who do things that he wont do like cotto and mosley do, thats try to get fights and win fights with real welterweights, next thing you know floyd will go to puerto rico to challenge ivan calderon instead of miguel cotto,LOL,nyahahaha
Yes they do and they have good reasons for that.
They really hate on Mayweather and pray for his downfall, Floyd is not blind, he tells the truth when he says HBO team hates him. BUT when he talks about racism it's just plain stupid coz Emanuel Steward is his biggest hater and from what i know he's a black man.
Floyd doesn't answer the questions, disrespects his opponents, his fans( by not fighting the best) and cherry picks.
Yes they have a bias and are a lil bit dishonest sometimes(Steward telling that Floyd is not a great fighter, Ledermann scoring against Mayweather as much as he can, Merchant telling Pacquiao would beat Mayweather,etc..) but i understand why they do that.
Well they didn't let Larry Merchant call that fight. I'm sure the Merchant would have had an interesting perception on the fight.
The HBO guys were trying to justify the fight in a way and I guess that's what they have to do to an extent, but the Merch is always pretty honest and doesn't just try and keep his job.
Merchant is a Mayweather hater and doesn't try to hide it. He has never had anything positive to say. If you don't believe that, go back and look at Mayweather's fights against Judah and Baldomir (the two best fighters in the division at the time for those of you who say he doesn't fight the best welterweights) and look at how Merchant constantly whined and criticized, especially in the Baldomir fight. Also, look at the De La Hoya fight against Steve "two-pound" Forbes. Forbes was a 135 pounder just like Marquez. He praised De La Hoya like he was beating up King Kong instead of a washed up has been.

Either this was the first fight you have seen Floyd fight on HBO or you have no clue what you are talking about. Larry Merchant hates Floyd Mayweather and has never had anything positive to say about him, no matter how well he performs. However, he is quick to point out anything negative about him, and Jim Lampley often joins him. Merchant is a classic hater like the ones on this site. If Merchant had been calling that fight Saturday night, he would have been complaining from round 3 on about how boring the fight is, blah, blah, blah

The Point Floyd is Trying to Make is that, The HBO crew Calls His fights recently as if they want him to Lose...
And being the Premiere Boxing Network, They should at Least Have the Perception that they dont care who wins the fight...But they dont...
YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE MAYWEATHER LOSE...
Thats why He feels it is Racism...Because They do not give off the Perception that they are netural...
And where does that cunt get the audacity to call someone else racist after things he has said recently ? particularly about Manny Steward.
People in glass houses should not throw stones.
Too Add to That Point:
When Manny Pacquaio Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Manny Pacquaio LOSE...
When Oscar De La Hoya Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Oscar De La Hoya LOSE...
When Kelly Pavlik Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Kelly Pavlik LOSE...
and more recently When Miguel Cotto Fights, YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Miguel Cotto LOSE...
and the most obvious in the Mayweather-Hatton Fight,
YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Hatton LOSE...
But you did get the Feeking that they wanted Mayweather to LOSE...
another example:
In the Jermaine Taylor fight against Kelly Pavlik
all you heard throughout the Fight was, What Jermaine Taylor was going to do wrong, and what he is doing wrong, and vice vesa What Kelly Pavlik was going to do right and what he was doing right....
and Once Again YOU do not GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE Kelly Pavlik LOSE...
Why Does The Perception exist with these fighters..??
Thats the Problem Mayweather Has with them...
IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WANT TO SEE HIM and certain fighters LOSE...
AND IF YOU ARE A FAIR MINDED COMMENTATOR THAT PERCEPTION SHOULD NOT EXIST...
BUT WITH THE HBO CREW IT DOES...
YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THEY WANT TO SEE MAYWEATHERand certain fighters LOSE...
They are Paid to be FAIR COMMENTATOR'S, not AVID FANS.... SO any bias they have against certain fighters should be set aside as soon as they start calling the fight
I don't know about HBO but Sky were creaming themselves over Mayweather on Saturday/Sunday.
the only one to point out the fact that he fought genuine Super Featherweight was Jim Watt.
Cosign
It really was awful

I think The HBO Announcement team, Are Pretty Fair except for Manny Steward. Manny Steward is MAYWEATHER's most Bias commentator and Critic .... Period...
Jim Lamely and Larry Merchant have called the fights for almost all of Floyd Career..
And They have had their moments, where you can say, they are being to overly critical, and they also had they moments were they give Floyd his respect..
The Problem they have is, They are not balance in their Announcement.
The Hatton fight for example..:
All of them said BEFORE THE FIGHT (On fight night),
"My heart is for Hatton.."
but my head says "Mayweather"
What Fair Minded Announcers would say that, right before the fight..
and
you could see they felt that way because during 2/3 of the fight they were making every excuse they could into why Mayweather Could Lose the fight...
They even had Hatton winning 5 Rounds, Some rounds where Mayweather Landed twice as Many Punches then Hatton landed, but they gave the round to Hatton..
Not until the 8th Round when Mayweather show that the knock out was coming did they start saying that Hatton is bring the best out of Mayweather...That's the Problem.... THE HBO crew have no Balance...
Thats the Problem Mayweather Has with them...
IT SEEMS LIKE THEY WANT TO SEE HIM LOSE...

With our coverage of Sky Sports you have to remember the quality of fights and fighters we get to see over here on the tele. It went from one week watching the likes of Fury - McDermott to watching Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He's very skilled and a joy to watch in the ring, regardless of who he's fighting and the circumstances of the guy he's fighting.
That quality of fighter doesn't come round very often.
considering how he was showered with hate after the fight, isn't it pretty much obvious that Floyd makes himsef the villain before every fight?
hell, even Floyd fans acknowledge that he is. If that's Floyds marketing strategy to pull PPV buys I'd say HBO does a pretty good job of not even mentioning it. It's like he makes himself out to be so hated, yet blames the people for hating him for it.

Things turn out pretty funny in the end of all the chaos, with all the trash going back to its original owner, even on the way to the dugout. The ad lib ending was actually more exciting than the fight itself.

They ain't biased. They call it like they see it; he needs to fight the toughest comp in his division, and his claim of bein GOAT is garbage. Hell, they had a disgrace to sell as a PPV, so they were kissin his ass good Saturday.
The thing is I agree with Floyd when he says that he can beat so and so fighter. The difference is saying it and leaving it up to speculation and going out there and proving it. The problem with Floyd is he likes to get ahead of himself. There's just a thing called humility that Floyd hasn't learned, and the truth is people would give him a lot more props if he just acted on his words. And I'm pretty sure thats what the HBO staff thinks too.
