-Showed movement
And before some bonehead comes in here to state the obvious, yes we all know that Manny is faster. Anyhow lets get some opinions on how much or wether or not this fight helps Cotto against Pac.
What we saw Saturday is a good indication to what I've been saying since both fights were signed...SIZE DOES MATTER at some point. Pacquiao can fight a JMM at the pace that many have become used to seeing from him because he's able to withstand punches at that weight. Who's the last dude he's fought that's been not only an offensive threat, but has a noticeable size advantage and knows how to implement it?
Pacquiao will land shots, but down the stretch Cotto's going to be too big and too strong for Pacquiao's own good. Pac will not box Cotto for 12 rounds simply because he can't.
Good to have an intelligent, rational Cotto fan back. I agree with everything said, green K.
Corely is the guy Cotto has beaten who is most similar to Pacquiao. That's about as far as you can get. Corely is a farily average puncher though. One glaring problem in that fight? He rocked Cotto with a right hook coming in. Same right hook Pac likes to throw now.
Oh I def agree just based on both guys' styles, they're offense 1st. Though I think Cotto's ability to cut the ring off and his jab are major keys in the fight, his size is going to be an issue a lot of people here will be sayin "Oh...ok damn" once the bell rings.
Yea the styles of these guys is gonna account for an exciting fight however long it lasts.
Agreed, though I think it'll definitely be a more competitive affair than PBF/JMM.

It does help in some respects, like fighting a southpaw, dealing with a southpaw's movements, and cutting off the ring. But Manny is just so unique in how he fights, no one guy can prepare you for it. Cotto has fought some guys that could help though.
