I thought it was obvious that it was staged, at least by HBGOlden Boy.
It didn't seem like Floyd was in on the joke, though. Max dropped Shane's name, and Floyd appeared to genuinely allow Shane to have a little bit of face time. The rest came across as his getting sandbagged.
I'm not a Floyd fan, but am surprised at how many people were OK with what went down in the post-fight interview. Antonio Tarver was raked through the coals for crashing the post-fight presser after Roy beat Ruiz, yet everyone seems to applaud Shane and Bernard bum rushing Floyd less than five minutes after his first fight back in nearly two years.
Granted, Floyd's interview was going nowhere fast, but HBO and Golden Boy knew what to expect the moment they agreed to fund his comeback. What was allowed in the ring wasn't right, and neither was Max for cutting off the interview when he did.
Marquez and the weight issue.
It looked like a scene from a school yard to me. I think Shane got what he wanted, ie people are talking about that fight now. He drummed up some interest but in a shitty way, but hey it worked. We talkin about it right?
thats the bottom line right there...shane is 40...he's gotta do what he gotta do...
i remember after the hatton fight, floyd bumrushed jim, larry, and steward doing the wrap up...hey what goes around comes around sometime...
I saw that as well.He stands to gain from the Floyd-Mosley match maybe. He knows Floyd is good but wouldnt be surprised if these guys were jealous of Floyd's success because he obviously makes more money than them and has been for a long time.
As for Mosley he should learn to build his own brand not to piggy bank on other people's success.Floyd and Pacquiao work a lot outside the ring to build their market worth then Mosley just goes around begging.
The irony.
why did shane need hopkins to back him up??it looked like a scene from a prision yard to be honest.....like they wanted to shank floyd and hopkins was hiding the shank for shane in an old towel behind his back

Does anyone think that was staged
Floyd called Shane over and Hopkins was telling Shane what to say
HBO and GBP are in the business of making money

i think bernard was lobbying for a fight with floyd himself...floyd is a big name middleweight now, so he's in hopkins category...plus he brings all the money...thats definitely someone hopkins is interested in..
I also think as someone else mentioned moments ago ; Shane and Bernard's frustration with how GBP caters to Floyd, and their overall frustration with how they've been unjustly treated as of late, added to their frustration in the ring.
yeh i seen hopkins hiding behind kellerman
hopkins is a punk anyway ..the whole i aint ever gonna lose to a white boy really shud have ended his media status somehow it didnt
having a go about white boy comments and you are rocking a floyd avatar and sig :ugh:
Some of you are simple people.
No wonder Boxing is such a joke. The people who watch the sport are uneducated dimwits with no clue. It's the same thing over and over and over, yet your brains seem to be unable to notice the trend.
Boxing is a MUG's game. Only foolish people get into it, and only the foolish with rotton promoters do they make any money from it.
Hopkins works for GBP. I reckon alot of the idiots on the board will still struggle to understands what that means or still be asking why he was there.
Boxing is a joke. Im outta here
Naw, I honestly think Floyd was telling him RESPECTIVELY that he needs to talk it over with his team (that other thread I made was just to **** with you guys). Thats why he was saying "Shane's a hell of a fighter".
Thats why I actually feel bad because Floyd was pissed, "Respect me as a man, I dont interrupt your interviews" etc etc. I felt that was kind of wrong of Shane, but at the same time, thats what people are talking about the most you know?
I just found it weird how Floyd called Shane over, Floyd knew Shane would call him out, its as if Floyd invited Shane to do it and then Hopkins miraculously appeared
It just seemed fishy to me
Bhop is smart and was trying to put Shane in a good position. I think both Hop and Shane have become a bit disgruntled with how they have been treated lately(and rightfully so). Its starting to show a little.
I think Hopkins has already commented on how GBP caters to Mayweather
If Oscar was a true friend he'd force Floyd to fight Shane but Oscar is all about money, he'd gladly leave Shane out in the cold to make Floyd - Pac

I thought he said "You just trying to fight". Before that he told Floyd, "this who you need to fight".
Either B-Hop is an elite instigator. He probably thought he was in the yard again.
