“You want to talk about the weight? I’ll be honest with you. I woke up Friday morning at my house and weighed myself at 145.5 pounds. I went for a 20 minute run and came back and was 145 even. I figured I’d come down to the weigh in and hit the 145 mark. I thought I’d get to the weigh in and hit 145, but I don’t complain. They wanted the money for it, and it is what it is. “

On defeating Juan Manuel Marquez:
“Floyd Mayweather is back. It was hard work and dedication. I have a good team and without them I wouldn’t be where I am. Marquez is tough as hell. I hit him with some shots I thought would have stopped him but that’s the Mexican in him. He wasn’t going anywhere. When I dropped Marquez in the second round I thought I could finish him off, but he was so tough he wasn’t going anywhere. I talked to my father and we thought this was a good fight because I might be a little rusty. He was a great fighter and I shook the cob webs off. I think I could have done a lot better but I’ve been off a few years. I want to continue looking better.”
On the weight issue:
“You want to talk about the weight? I’ll be honest with you. I woke up Friday morning at my house and weighed myself at 145.5 pounds. I went for a 20 minute run and came back and was 145 even. I figured I’d come down to the weigh in and hit the 145 mark. I thought I’d get to the weigh in and hit 145, but I don’t complain. They wanted the money for it, and it is what it is. “
“Everyone’s talking about weight. No disrespect to Oscar De La Hoya, but he just fought Manny Pacquiao and he was the much bigger man in that fight, but no one said anything about that. Then I turn around and I’m a smaller guy than Oscar and I fight a guy who went to war with Manny Pacquiao twice, and they just tell me he’s a smaller guy. There’s always excuses.”
“I’m up here on this stage with a lot of fighters I respect. I respect Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins, and Oscar De La Hoya. I respect them as fighters. To be the best of your era, you’ve got to beat the best fighters. Regardless of the weight. You’ve got to beat the best fighters of your era. I came from a small weight class also. I started at 130 pounds. I’m always in a no win situation. If I’m smaller and beat a bigger guy he’s washed up or no good. When am I going to get my just do as a great fighter?”
On a post fight altercation with Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins:
“I told Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins (during my post fight interview) that when it’s their time to shine and I’m there to support them that I don’t climb in to the ring and grab their mic and take away from their time to shine. I respect both of them as fighters and I just want that same respect back from them.”
On pound-for-pound rankings:
“They say Manny Pacquiao is No. 1 and I’m not here to rate myself. I know who I am as a fighter. Pound-for-pound rankings are opinionated. I started my career and won a title in my first year. I’ve been a champion for eleven straight years, and have won six titles in five weight classes. I was just off for two years and I came back and beat the No. 2 pound-for-pound guy. I didn’t rate Marquez as No. 2, they did. People can make up their own opinions.”
On his next opponent:
“I am going to move forward fighting the best fighters out there. I will talk with Leonard Ellerbe and Al Haymon and we’ll go from there. Shane Mosley has an upcoming bout and I wish him nothing but the best. Manny Pacquiao is going to fight Miguel Cotto and may the best man win. We’ll see what happens and where we go from there.”
:alucard::boxing: He was 146 on fight night. He's black so his muscles show bigger (which is why bodybuilders tan) and he's taller than JMM so thatt's why he looked bigger.
whats the big deal? he said he was 145 on FRIDAY...the weigh in.
HBO said he was 146 instead, but he still wouldnt have made it to 144 since he was 145, and still would have had to pay a 300k $ fine.
so...not exactly huge info here.
they said it when they talked about jmm weighing in at 148 fight night.
that's when emmanuel started talking about maybe jmm weighed in with shoes and clothes on as sometimes fighters do.
look up espn. i think dan rafael or another espn writer wrote in his blog that floyd refused to weigh in fight night.
not sure i saw 2 blogs stating it. i think espn was 1 of them.
I am shocked JMM weighed 148 on fight night, not sure how much Floyd weighed cause obviously he refused.
Maybe he didn't weigh himself cause he knew people would talk about the 2 extra pounds at the weigh in, that could be why he didn't wanna talk about it with Kellerman.
Or he could have just weighed more than usual and didn't want it to be presented, who knows...
He looked probably 150+ though, I wouldn't say he was that much bigger looking than in previous fights though, but he was a bit.
Yes they said he didn't let HBO weigh him on fight night.
He didn't wanna talk with Kellerman after the fight about it either.
I just saw it and yeah I remember that about Kellerman.
Its probably fair to say he put on a few pounds by fight night from the weighin but how many pounds is the question? In the past he has allowed himself to be weighted and has always come in below 150 as far as i can remember. Im just assuming he may be over 150 now fight night. Its probably a part of getting older too. But he should have allowed hbo to weigh him fight night imo and i think it was a bit of a bitch move coming in over weight for the fight, he may never had any intention of losing those few pounds, not that it would have made any difference, the gap between floyd and jmm was so wide
What do you mean let HBO weigh him on fight night, how do you know he never let them weigh him? Did they say that he didn't?
This is a simple question that nobody has answered me yet, I was watching on sky sports so I haven't seen the HBO version.

yes.
HBO mentioned.
a few writers wrote it in their blog too before the fight.
Okay, I will try to watch a video and watch... I am only being fair here, its just I never saw it so I wasn't sure whether he actually refused or people were trying to add one and two together and stuff.
My point is he wasn't weighing no 145 as he says.If he was he would have easily made 144 and not give up the money and he would have let HBO weigh him on fight night.

I doubt he weighed 146 on fight night... but all of these guys are saying Floyd refused to weigh himself, I want to know... was it said on HBO that he refused to weigh himself? I never watched the HBO version.
Pacman at 130 outweighs 130 Floyd Pacman at 135 outweighs 135 Floyd Pacman at 140 outweighs 140 Floyd But all suddenly Floyd is WAY BIGGER than Pacman now.
Address your yellow teeth problem before trying address Floyd Mayweather, you twat
