I sure as hell do. Out of all the top Welters like Mosley, Williams, Margarito, and Clottey Cotto comes in last place when it comes to threats. I'm saying this as someone who doesn't even like Mayweather. If I liked him, I'd want him to fight Cotto because it would be a bank account padder.
Cotto's a little unfairly being portrayed as a quitter because of the Margarito fight. He took 11 rounds of punishment, gave everything he had, and if that fight had continued Cotto would not have won and would have possibly suffered serious, permanent damage. He wouldn't quit if he was getting dominated on the scorecards but not taking serious damage.
I need to remember to green k you for this. This is about the most unbiased statement about the outcome of that fight I've seen yet. You mention nothing of any cheating, and speak only of Cotto's punishment in that fight.
But as a side effect, it gives all the Cotto haters and just people that dislike him for whatever reason to try to discredit him by calling him a quitter. A most excellent post! :cool2:
Green k given! :fing02:

See this is what I don't get.
According to some people, unless you call someone out on national television, than you don't want to fight them.
Not everyone are fukking loud mouth punks. As if calling someone out to Merchant or Kellerman is like a binding contract. It literally means NOTHING. What matters is what the promoters do behind the scenes.
This is why Floyd is a child...he thinks that way when it's convienient. When people are calling him out all the time, Marquez does it and he goes "oh I'll whoop that ass easy" and so that's the call out he acknowledges.
Cotto has called Floyd out many times. Just cause you didn't see it on HBO doesn't mean it didn't happen.
And, if he doesn't call Floyd out after the Pac fight, that doesn't mean he doesn't want to fight him. You people put too much fukking stock into "calling someone out". It means nothing.
Right now the Cotto-Pacquiao fight needs to play it's course. But after the beating that Cotto took against a slower and more limited fighter than Mayweather and going life and death with a guy who has less power than Mayweather (Clottey couldn't ko Corrales) do you honestly think that Arum wants to put Cotto in with Floyd? His confidence might raise a little bit about Cotto's chances if Cotto beats Pacquiao convincingly, but Arum has other options with Cotto. I can't really blame Cotto for the fight not happening, but Arum will never let this fight happen. And therefore, I have to point out Mayweather ducking the other guys.
Cotto didn't quit against Clottey because Clottey let him breathe. I know Floyd isn't physically imposing either. But I think that his corner would throw the towel in similar to the Margarito fight.
You're a joke bro. You just don't like Cotto period.

Some Points I would like to make.
-Ricans are tough as nails. On par with Mexicans.
-JMM is a counterpuncher and looked bad trying to be the aggressor, similar to what happened to him with Chris John.
-Floyd looked good, but he had way too many advantages over a much smaller JMM.
-Cotto is not a quitter. He had a bad night against someone who potentially had bricks in their hands. He took a bad beating that night, but he kept getting up.
An Unrelated Point:
-The level of pure retardation in this forum has reached an all time high as of late. It seems so many have lost all objectivity and post negatively about certain fighters, for the pure enjoyment of pissing off fellow members or trying to shed their own fighter in a better light. These people know who they are and really should grow the f*ck up.
I owe you a green K! I'm all out from the karma thread.
On a related point...the ts opinion of Cotto---that little eyebrow plucking mofo.
No. Not at all man. He turned into a bitch after he beat the breaks out of that little eyebrow plucking mofo.
you proved right here you just hate Cotto...lol
I think that Cotto would definitely give Floyd a better fight than JMM did. I'm not that biased. I'm just saying that since JMM's stamina is better than Cotto's that that is the reason why he didn't get knocked out or stopped. I think Cotto would get stopped even though he may win two or three rounds off of Floyd.
^^Here's the contradiction...
The only guys that I can accuse him of ducking at 147 are Williams, Mosley, and Margarito. Those guys have said they want to fight Mayweather. Cotto has not.
Cotto, when asked about fighting floyd, has said in an interview, "Flyod knows where to find me if he wants me"
Floyd, when asked about fighting Cotto, said "he's too green." Lol.
Floyd ducked Cotto. He don't want no part of that "eyebrow plucking mofo".
Just because Cotto doesn't shoot his mouth off calling guys out, doesn't mean he is ducking them. You see what you want to see..u lack objectivity...therefore...:sucks:

This is true. But what would his workrate be like? I don't think he'd throw much, and I think Cotto would be pumping his jab like never before.
Floyd can land 60% to Cotto's 25%(if that), but if Cotto is outworking him, he can do some damage.
I can't see Cotto winning rounds because when Floyd lands it's gonna look real clean.
Cotto use to have his chin tucked, after Margarito, Miguel has his head on a swivel so when his opponent lands shit looks mad clean. And when Mayweather lands it's pretty clean anyway.
Wrong!!!!!!!!
P4P Castillo had a better chin, but not stronger than Cotto!!!!!!!!!
I think he's stronger, he's bullied stronger fighters than Cotto has. To tell you the truth though, the strength difference isn't too much.
That said, I don't see Cotto walking through all the leather he's gonna have to, to beat May.
And all of them hit harder than Floyd and he manage to beat 2 of them!!!!!!!!
True. I don't think Clottey hits harder than Mayweather, but that's for another subject.
I use to think Cotto had the best shot at beating Mayweather too since he was the closest to a Castillo, but Floyd would land at a high percentage without having to open up too much so he can let Cotto land at a low %.
P4P Castillo is stronger
lemme guess, margacheato fanatic?
Either that or a Cotto hater. Cotto would beat Floyd. He's too big. And obviously the ts doesn't believe the only time this 3 time world champion took a knee, (never been ko-d) was in a very controversial fight with a proven cheater that is banned from the boxing world in the US.
Failed thread. :peeright:
I was watching the fight and thought to myself, it must be hella dsicouraging to punch for 12 rounds and not hit a guy that's right in front of you. I don't think Cotto would have quit but I do think he'd break mentally, stop punching and hope to survive all 12 rounds.
Margarito, Clottey, and Mosley all landed over 220 punches (95% of them power punches) against Cotto.
I see Mayweather landing at a 60-70% clip. It'd be a real beatdown.

I am slightly favoring Cotto to beat Pacquiao. And if Cotto doesn't call Floyd out, then I don't want to hear anymore about how Floyd is ducking him. That's all that needs to be said. Mosley has called the dude out to his face and Cotto needs to tell Arum to step aside if he tries to block the fight from happening like he always has. I think Floyd is a bully that takes the path of least resistance, but I can't accuse him of ducking a guy who is quiet as a mouse when it comes to calling the dude out. The only guys that I can accuse him of ducking at 147 are Williams, Mosley, and Margarito. Those guys have said they want to fight Mayweather. Cotto has not.

stop it with this "you gotta call out floyd" shit... the only way floyd will fight someone is if he knows he has a majority of the advantages.

Everything that doesn't have to do with Cotto leads to Cotto. Why would Cotto quit? Mayweather wasn't hitting him with KO shots or anything
