Kimbo wasn't in the UFC. It's no different than Friday night fights exploiting Butterbean. Those numbers are confirmed by many outlets. You're smarter than that, actually maybe you're not. MMA>Boxing in terms of revenue and popularity. Sorry.
Did you not forget that the entity with Kimbo Slice was also on CBS you dumb mother fucker? Did it not go bankrupt as well? Just because you have one slot at 11pm on a Saturday(one of the worst slots to be in) does NOT mean you have a successful product. I don't like to get into petty arguments but YOU are the one that clearly needs to pull his head out of his ass. Also, yes the UFCs biggest event was outside of Lesnar but it has NEVER done anywhere close to that one card without the name Lesnar on the card. UFC needs the wrestling fans to help buy the the card to have it reach the million mark.
Hahaha. UFC 94...1.2M buys. UFC 102...1.05M buys. No Lesnar. Boxing has not done one ppv this year that did a million buys, yet the UFC has had three. Independant sources confirm PPV buys all the time.
Kimbo Slice is more of a household name than Mayweather. The slot is 9pm on a Saturday. Not 11. How many times can you embarrass yourself in or post? UFC revenue quadruples boxings' easily. Not even close.
The UFC has had two events this year not feature Lesnar that did over a million buys. Their most successful ppv of all time did not feature Lesnar. Educate yourself. I love boxing, but I'm not delusional. Strikeforce, not UFC, has a card in November on CBS on a Saturday night in a primetime slot. That will do at least 5M viewers. Wake up fool.
Who really knows if they done 1 million buys. They are a private company and don't give out their numbers.
Haha you're an idiot. HBO is doing how many PPVs this year? The UFC had already had THREE do over 1M buys. I understand this is a boxing forum, but pull your head out of your ass. MMA is a fight. It contains all forms of fighting other than illegal street shit. Boxing is hands. That's it. There's a big difference. MMA fighters would crush boxers in a street fight. Mike Tyson said Fedor Emelianenko is "the baddest mutha****a of all time"
Stop hating. Disgruntled, jealous bitches. You punks sound like Arum. BTW, mma's global PPVs crush boxing. So that whole boxing is a world sport is bullshit. Boxing is dieing.
Nah, kicks and ground fight are highly overrated and punches highly underrated. I've witnessed street fights between amateur boxers and amateur mma fighters and there's nothing like a boxer punch. It just comes too fast out of nowhere and boom, KO. I have yet to see a street fight where the martial art dude wins... that's only the experience I've had anyway...
You say you haven't seen any advertising, you must not watch much t.v. ESPN has show a commercial almost every single segment, while I rarely see a UFC commercial. I think you have your shit twisted. Also whats a big fight in UFC outside of Lesnar? You act like UFC is putting on tons of huge fights. Get over it, what Dana says doesn't mean jack shit he is just spewing shit to line his pockets. BTW, boxing will have 3 big fights this year fyi. As for the little kiddies in high school, that will change once mommy and daddy stop giving them money to buy these "fights". The same thing that hurt boxing(PPVS) will hurt UFC once people get bored of shelling out money every month. Only difference is boxing has been able to last hundreds of years. Will UFC survive once they can't live off of PPV? I highly doubt it.

It's only $25 with the Tecate rebate I posted.
I went to the store to buy some Tecate for the rebate and some of the Tecate reps were there, they saw I was buying Tecate and said "Have you tried the Tecate light?" I don't drink really so I said no, one of the guy says "we'll buy you a 30 pack so you can try it" and handed me a $20. So I ended up with free beer and I'll be getting that $25 dollar rebate. :D :D :D
Oh yeah they said "Go Marquez!!!"
Stop making excuses, thats all UFC does and stop saying MMA. MMA doesn't do jack shit, its one company and thats the UFC. Mayweather PPV will do better number and thats it, cut and dry. UFC's product is garbage and tonight is a prime example and that is why a ton of their fans will be tuning into boxing.

Yeah i noticed that alot of my friends that are UFC fans usually go to bars to watch the fight, mo boxing people always get together and order the fight, cook some meat, have some beers, a Quinela, its more of a event. Thats the diference between the two sports, and thats why i love boxing.

Me? Makin excuses? You sound very delusional. Atleast Fulcrum is bringing up descent points. You think because your opinion that MMA is garbage that people won't like it? The Mayweather fight will only do bigger numbers worldwide. In the past few weeks, all I've been seeing is UFC 103 commercials, not one Boxing commercial. It shows how well they are doing promoting wise. Hell, even Bob Arum knows they do great when promoting fights. Look at it this way, MMA has taken over the youth, and this is coming first hand from a highschooler. I see people talking about UFC all the time, last time I heard a boxing conversation in school that started from others was Mayweather-Hatton, and since then, UFC has double in size. If the UFC fans really cared for the Mayweather fight, why would the demand of most sports bars be put up to be showing UFC tonight? It really shows. UFC is where the money is, and Boxing is in a slump with all these organizations involved with screwing up possible big fights. Having one big fight a year is hardly even much to say mainstream.
Well, we'll see tonight how accurate your presumptions are won't we? We'll see which PPV dominates which. Then again, maybe we won't because Dana White makes up his #'s and lies about them and there's no way to ever accurately gauge UFC's PPV numbers.
I dislike MMA as much as you, man. But worldwide, the boxing is bigger, no doubt. Boxing is more international than MMA. But in the US, it's no doubt more people will be talking about it than boxing. The numbers may be lower because all those casual UFC fans will travel to bars to watch the fight, but the boxing fans will stay home in partys to watch the fight. Get what I'm saying?
Do you know any Bar showing the Mayweather fight. Every place I know is showing UFC
Cacolandia=Carolina? If that's it try Buffalo Wings at the airport.
all the bars around here are showing the UFC fight... its some bullsh!t just becasue rich franklin is from here so thats what everyone is talking about.. i dont care though im just gonna be watching the fight at the crib neways
You have to take into account the region you're at. This guy I quoted up here ^ says his location is Minneapolis. Bunch of trailer park hicks there ofcourse they're going to show that skinhead UFC homo shit. There's no blacks or mexicans there to want to see Floyd or Marquez fight. In bigger cities they'll be showing boxing. And in places that have obviously big Marquez and/or Floyd following.
How many trailer parks could you fit in a well populated city of 400,000 people to come up with a conclusion that everyone there is a white redneck? I won't deny that most people would rather see UFC, but that's the case EVERYWHERE. UFC is giant in the mainstream.... GIANT. Without a doubt. Change your TV to ****e TV and tell me whats on. UFC right? That entire channel can thrive off of MMA. It shows how much people pay attention toward it rather than boxing. And what about those boxing shows? The Contender? Terrible. UFC thrives because it appeals to a larger audience. That's why those inexperiencd fighters on TUF can win it and be a top contender easily. It takes little to no difficulty. If every bar around the US is showing UFC, it shows that a small line of fighters in MMA can out hustle a giant fight in Boxing. The only cities that can rely for exceptions are the big boxing cities that have always been that way. NYC, LA, Chi, etc. But other than that, 99% of the US would rather tune into MMA than Boxing because it has more of a social aspect rather than a sport aspect. That's why it lives so well.
I think that the bars don't really show boxing because of how greedy HBO is. They charge OUTRAGEOUS fees to the bars for showing boxing. It costs the home owners 55$ for the fight but at a bar, they get charged like per TV or something. UFC only charges them the same rate that the homeowners get charged. The bars would have to charge a door fee of like 10$ for each guy coming into the bar just to break even on the PPV fee.
HBO knows that the bars would make a killing off of all the people that would show up if they were only charging the bars 55$ for the fight, it is more like 550$ so the bars say forget it, I'm going with UFC
Same problem as most of you, and I am out of town.
I have the same problem here in Houston around my area.here in houston we have emilianos cantina,la revolucion sports bar,el stadio we dont have to worry **** the ufc and the rednecks!!!!
One of the girls who picked up mentioned she didn't know who Floyd Mayweather was. I think she thought it was someone headlining the UFC fight or something by the way she responded.
Our sport is dead here in the US :(
