Why didn't Hopkins fight Sturm?

you honestly think Sturm would've beat B.Hop?!? :ugh:......no seriously, you REALLY think that?!?!? did you read what I wrote?...i said it would have been a good fight...i'll go even further to say that sturm would have put up a far better effort than oscar did and i doubt if he would have rolled over from that pitty pat bodyshot that hopkins landed on oscar...when was hopkins ever known to be a one punch ko artist anyways...thats why that hopkins/oscar fight was nothing but a fix fight for both of those cats to get paid....

His fight with Calzaghe was the first classy and risky fight he had since god knows when. Maybe the RJ fight in '93.:lol1: And I think he took it because his people told him Calz can't punch. He didn't need to anyway, Joe was always a better boxer. exactly...plus calzaghe coming to the states to fight is always more effective than selling wolf tickets from another country...nard couldn't avoid him anymore... yes joe proved to be a better boxer than nard, plus he was big enough to not get tired out with all of hopkins roughhouse, weardown tactics...threw in a couple of headbutts and lowblows of his own too i was impressed...

Beat up? Bhop goes after money fights, there was no big payday in a hopkins sturm clash. Hopkins has struggled to get fights early in his career,now giving his current age he doesn't the time to nit pick ,It should 've happen following the Kelly Pavlik victory

i thought he was already undisputed when he and oscar fought... He has to do with the belts. Some folks don't really recognize the WBO, and that was the belt Oscar had. Generally, to be undisputed you have to have all four major belts. Though, in some cases, you can getting stripped of one of the belts and still be undisputed because technically, no one ever beat you for it. Jermain Taylor and Joe Calzaghe are examples.

if you are nardo, why risk legitly losing to a good, natural middleweight in sturm for chump change when you can beat up on an awful, blown-up welterweight whose only win at 160 was bogus...for millions at that...you do the math
