It's his financial status.
Only an idiot would think that losing 5 mil ain't hurting Floyd.. It isn't like he is losing a few pennies.. He is losing 5 million! 5 million is 5 million, regardless of how much money you have, it hurts. Not to mention the amount of money he lost on jewels (8 million).. that's 13 million dollars right there.
What you Flomos don't understand is that, maybe they payed him soo many mils for his last fight, that DOESN'T mean all that money is in the bank. It's not like he can just cash it out.. It's invested into luxuries and homes that have devalued and depreciated. You really think a new car is worth the same after having a few miles on it? NO. He's paying for this cars with high interest rates too..
Not to mention he bought property in Michigan and Nevada. Two states that have been drastically effected by the housing crisis. Floyd isn't starving to death.. NO. But you can't say that he is definitely not hurting.
That wasn't a weight drained Mayweather we saw the other day, it was an emotional Mayweather in desperation. What he said would never happen to him is happening. Not only that but the entire boxing community is laughing at him about it behind his back.
Something positive can come out of this situation though, were there is
hardship there is also great opportunity.
Losing these vasts amount of money is no joke.
Maybe this sparks the flame in him though & makes him determined and hungry once again.
Maybe this experience will teach him humility and what it is to be humble?
Maybe it will motivate him to fight harder.
It's his financial status.

nah man, I think jmm and nacho being respectful really got to floyd, especially since the media and the fans really dig into him a lot.
bet he won't be doing any retirement after his fight with jmm
yeah i know, he probably needs to do 2 more big fights and pay off all depts. Not to be racist but most minorities when they make it big just spend money end up in dept and dont know how to invest.
people should worry more about the sport of boxing and less about how much money a fighter makes.
Thank you, Some of these guys are worst than the flomos or stans.
He looked stress but how do we know what makes him look stressed?? The TS is talking like he resides with Mayweather and knows exactly what the man is going through, You guys are worst than the flomos...
wouldnt 35% of 20mil be 7 million?? not 5-5.25??
so at best he takes home 13mil
does he pay roger and the gang out of this 13mil? i dont know.. are there local taxes in his area?? i dont know this either
I already included that hypothetical situation in the next participle of the exact same sentence.
At best, he takes home $13 million - $5 million IRS settlement = $8 million. I wonder what itemized deductions or write-offs there are (i.e. business-related expenses, gambling losses, etc). I would assume that he isn't self-employed, rather he is an employee of (CEO) of Mayweather Promotions.
I don't think the IRS is kind enough that they would let him skip 2009 income tax on the $5 million from his purse that they are taking.
The current income tax rates for IRS are 35% for Mayweather's income.
So .35(20 million - 5 million automatic penalty) =$5.25 million automatically, unless he has to pay additional income tax on the purse (i.e. 2009 income tax on the current income) which in that case would be $7 million. Either way you slice it, that's a huge chunk of change.
Anybody else find it interesting that Mayweather took out a loan on a $600,000 car which he then defaulted on? That should have been chump change to him.

What you dummies don't seem to understand is Money Mayweather makes upwards of 20 mill per fight. You really think the PPV king is worried about taxes? In a weeks time after he beats pee-pee mouth he'll have an extra 8 figures in his bank account. I think that should pretty much take of any "financial problems" you claim he's facing.
Yeah - and again, he'll piss it all away in a year or so.

Nah, he will have to fight well until middle age. Especially when he is spending and paying (IRS) faster than he can earn it.
why dont they freeze his bank account until he pays? My Mom had her assets frozen by the IRS after my mom got a huge settlement and now she has to pay taxes on it and the IRS wont give her money back until she pays.
One reasons is lawyers. Mayweather's not your mom's.
Mayweather isn't losing 5 million. It's his obligation to pay taxes on his income just like everybody else. He should be happy his paying 5 million instead of 6.

He's fighting for the wrong reasons and that will ultimately be his own defeat
Money will defeat Mayweather psychologically and Marquez will do it Physically
You been training hard and then you find out all your hardwork and earned money will go to the IRS, that is discouraging
