Marquez pulls off the upset or even in event of a loss is at least as competitive a Mayweather opponent as we've ever witnessed (maybe barring Castillo)?
Will you all take back all this nonsense you've spewed since the announcement of the fight about 7lbs being life or death and a greater factor than skills? Or will you just cast off Mayweather as "exposed" or weight drained or past it and by proxy downplay Marquez's (presumably) hard-earned victory?
This question can also apply to the Pacquiao - Cotto bout for the few posters stubborn enough to propagate the same doctrine for that fight in order to appear consistent
Will a Marquez (and/or Pacquiao) performance where they are seemingly just as effective as ever be enough to convince you that a few measly pounds can't overcome ability and greatness?
Oh and to pre-empt the obvious counter question; if Marquez looks decidedly at a large disadvantage due to size and weight in performance or just plain old stature I'm prepared to take back a lot of what I've said in the run up to this fight to an extent but I'll still refuse to place such significance on weight taking into consideration the amount of times such adverse conditions have been overcome in boxing history
some of the guys on this forum are obsessed with size, its quite worrying
you pose a good question TS,i wonder what they will say when the weight doesnt play as much of a part as they have made out
PUH LEASE. The same guy who struggles against Juan Diaz and Chris John is gonna beat Mayweather? Give me a ****ing break.
Mayweather UD.
I'm predicting that Mayweather beats him too - because I feel he's better.
But I also predict the Marquez that turns up will be more or less the same Marquez we are used to AND that Mayweather's size advantage will not be a deciding factor
If Marquez performs extremely well and loses, weight will still be an excuse.
I can just see it now: "If Marquez was the same size as Mayweather he woulda knocked him the fuck out in round 6!"
