am not exactly a nerd when it comes to computers, I have firefox etc. pm the best stuff to use. Adblock Plus blocks most popups and ads anywhere on the net. Install it, then restart Firefox when prompted and subscribe to one of the blocklists. I use EasyList USA. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 Flashblock allows you to control Flash ads and any Flash video. Instead of Flash playing automatically you have to click a little icon to play the video. This is good because it keeps Flash ads under control that haven't yet been added to Adblock Plus' blocklist. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433 NoScript stops any active content running on web pages. This is a brilliant extension but it takes time to 'train' it, IE, you have to allow every site you visit manually. It's worth it. Seriously? As a system builder / software and hardware nerd I find that pretty incredible. Get yourself a better browser. Firefox with the Adblock Plus extension, Flashblock, and possibly NoScript (which takes a little getting used to if you're a n00b).
