how can fighters without amatuer experience turn pro anyway? isn't there some sort of requirement or rule that you have to have had amatuer fights before turning pro?
not at all it's like going into NBA without playing college ball. most fighters have amature experience because they start off young like 9 and fight until they able to go pro. most mexicans turn pro at 15 with no amature experience. James Toney had bout 25 fights I have 18. I have 2 fights then I turn pro. the only requirement is that you pass the physical and pay fees to turn pro. that's it
George Foreman only had like 26 am fights. I guess that doesn't count but you'd think someone of his magnitude would have had more.
And don't they say Hopkins am record was like 95-4? is that possible?
Does anyone know for sure?
Foreman won the gold medal in the 68' olympics

No there is no rule. All you gotta do is somehow know someone or impress someone to get you in the professionals.
