When thinking about this fight and weighing everything up I suddenly realised something that made my mind up in an instant. JMM is an excellent fighter, a very good counter-puncher, great heart and a credit to boxing.
However when you take into account the fight weight and all other variables and qualities, I'm left thinking how can JMM win this fight? What does he do better than what Floyd can do?
To me, power, speed, youth, athleticism, adaptablity, possibly even experience (at championship level) is all in Floyd's favour. I know boxing isn't always this simple but when looked at this rationally it's hard to make a case for JMM.
If people disagree please respond I really have an open mind about this...
Ok so it seems i'm not too far off the mark. I thought heart might be mentioned, but i think floyd has so much ability he hasn't really had to have called on his heart yet. Accurate puncher is interesting, never thought of that. I'm almost feeling sorry for JMM.
He's better at getting hit and having his face look a mess postfight, taking gay pics, and doing weird, pointless and frankly disturbing s**t in the guise of doing anything to win.
In all seriousness he definitely has more exciting fights and is much more offensive minded that Floyd.
I'd say that Marquez is the slightly more accurate puncher, but it's certainly debatable. He certainly doesn't waste many shots anyway.
Certainly Mayweather's fight to lose unfortunately. If anyone is offering odds, I might be tempted to take Marquez though, more out of loyalty than belief.
Nothing, nothing at all. It funny how people are commenting upon how good JMM looks during training, yet fail to comment on how PBF has improved since the fight was announced. PBF looks much sharper than how he appeared during that open training session at the Peacock gym in london. He's almost to where he was before his retirement, plus he's bigger and stronger.
