Mayweather isn't a big WW, and we know that Marquez isn't even a legitimate WW. With that said, do you think the size difference will be ridiculous, or just noticeable but nothing out of hand. I don't think it'll be too bad.
The Problem is not the size of Mayweather.
The so called Problem is the size of Marquez.
The Popular belief in boxing about Mayweather is.
HIS opponents needs to bigger than him to have any kind of chance to beat Mayweather. ( ex. Castillo)
NOT SMALLER
NOT THE SAME SIZE
NOT ALITTLE BIT BIGGER
BUT A GOOD AMOUNT BIGGER.
Why does the opponent needs to be bigger than Mayweather to beat you might ask?
1. The opponents needs to be able withstand Mayweather Power as they tired to bull rush Mayweather.. Because nobody in their right mind is going to try and boxed Mayweather AND WIN.
So the only stragey critics see that can be successful against Mayweather is to Pressure Floyd, and smuther him.
BUT if that is the only stragey to beat Mayweather.
Than obviously a smaller fighter can not do that.
Jesus Chavez tryed and failed
Phillip N'dou tryed and failed
Henry Bruseles tryed and failed
Arturo Gatti tryed and failed
Ricky Hatton tryed and failed
As you see...Critics do not want to see Mayweather fight soembody his size or Smaller in which the opponent does not have the physical assests to Effectively pressure Mayweather and withstand Mayweather Punches.
Jose Luis Castillo WEIGH 149 in a lightweight fight against Mayweather.
when Mayweather weigh 140.
And Majority People Believe those 9 pounds were MAJORITY OF THE reason Castillo gave Mayweather Problems... and Those 9 pounds People Still believe are what is needed in order to give Mayweather problems. Thus.
Mayweather has to be at a Physical Weigh Disadvantage
in order for it to seem like Mayweather has a bigger chance to Lose.
Should have atleast added the lbs but they'll get it. My prediction, 4-6 lbs. I know it won't be 6lbs, 4 or 5 maybe.
Shit I didn't even notice that. My bad. I'm sure people will understand what I meant.

look at their shoulders not the top of their heads... floyd has a few inches on jmm and that's w/ shoulder pads.
The reason that people are reluctant to discuss this is because there is a sizeable contingent that would prefer to portray Floyd as being two divisions bigger than Marquez. I'm not sure why.
For their last fight, Pacquiao had a four pound weight advantage over JMM on fight night. I'll be watching to see what the "pounds delta" is in this matchup.
BTW, I wouuld suggest a poll.
1-3 lbs
4-5 lbs
6-8 lbs
9+ lbs
Good idea. I'll add one.

Most here are thinking like casual boxing fans. A true boxing fan shouldn't be fooled.

the fact that jmm has not fought above the 135 lbs limit means floyd has a distinct advantage.
have you seen the stare down pick w/ floyd and jmm? jmm looks much smaller in that picture.
I think May weighs in at 143.5, Marq at 143.
On fight night, May is 149, Marq is 146.
When did JMM fight Paq last? Spring of 2008? So that's about 18 months? Well, JMM was 141 on fight night for Pac II. He would have gained about 5-6 lbs in a year and a half.
thats pretty accurate, mayweather doesnt tend to throw on that much weight on fight night.
