Alexis Arguello's son is still protesting his dads death being ruled a suicide. This was a top story on AOL, which is rare, so I thought I would share it.
Here
I dont know that much about the whole scenario, but imo this story has much more merit than the Arturo Gatti one. Theres a lot of shady politics in Nicaragua from what I hear.
Gatti's had a dark side. He battled drug and alcohol problems himself, gotten arrested for assaulting cops and women.
Drug problems no.
He did drink heavily though.
I'm not saying he did or didn't commit suicide, but it's been known there has been a dark side to Arguello, deep very dark depressions and drugs in the past, unlike Gatti who never showed any dark side.

Arguello had been contemplating suicide for the past 25 years. It was really no secret and I find it unlikely that he had been murdered but not impossible considering the situation in his country.
The knowledge about the "black bottle" came from Luis Resto.
hey and what the heck, they know what was in that 'mixed bottle' in the Pryor fight?
I never heard that before!
It's still controversy, some say he had cocaine mixed with the water :dunno:.
The city's new mayor was appointed July 2, barely 24 hours after Arguello died and one day before his funeral.
WHAT THE HELL. how is this not more talked about? a new guy ready to go the day after Arguello is dead?
maybe I just dont understand Nicaraguan politics, but that doesnt sound right at all.
Why would he have a motive to kill himself though?
I've never heard anything about Arguello that suggests he's suffering from depression or domestic violence etc.
I reckon he was murdered.
well actually he did suffer from depression in the past, and at times was very low mentaily in his life

The Florida State Boxing Commission failed to administer a post-fight urine test; while Pryor told Arguello there wasn't anything "suspicious" in the bottle, it was eventually discovered that Lewis broke apart antihistamine pills and poured the medicine into the water, giving Pryor greater lung capacity in the later rounds of a fight.
I never heard that before!
Umm, he shot himself in the chest?
I'm sorry, but who the fukk shoot's themselves in the chest? I like to think Arguello was way smarter than that if he was indeed trying to kill himself.
I really have a hard time believing this was a suicide and I hope his son can help clear everything up.
Wow, his suicide note seems REALLY fishy. a suicide note that was typed and unsigned?
Ive never been in a suicidal mood, but damn, if I was I dont think I would feel like going to the computer and printing out the note. youd think if you were ready to kill yourself, you would just pull out a piece of paper and write on it.
