Where does Miguel Cotto go if he loses the Pac Fight

WTF... if he beats Floyd it isn't enough to get a fight with him because he hasn't proven himself? He would have beat arguably the #1 P4P fighter in the world. There is no one he hasn't faced in the WW division what else does he need to prove? Erm I'm struggling to understand this post - I think you misunderstood me? I meant that after losing to Pacquiao, a single win over Margarito may not be enough to get Cotto back in a position for a Mayweather bout

He'll probably work his way back to the top with some B level fighters then maybe a fight against a weaker titleholder before stepping it up again.

I mean shane mosley will want the winner of pac/may if it happens and if pac/may doesnt happen he will fight mayweather so where does this leave cotto who would he fight next? Cotto vs. Margarito 2

I think the more complicated scenario is if Cotto wins, because I don't see Floyd fighting him. Even though I would favor Floyd, it's just too damned risky, I don't Floyd taking that fight.

If Pac wins he fights Mayweather next. Cotto rematches Mosley to setup a potential Mosley/Mayweather clash if Mosley can avenge his loss to Cotto. If Cotto wins and Mayweather beats Pac, Mayweather retires. Cotto rematches Margarito. Everyone retires fat and happy.

If he loses maybe Soto-Karres in March. He is on the undercard against Alfonso Gomez or an Antonio Diaz. Then Margo 2 in June. If Pac loses I bet it is Valero or JMM
