oh come on.
race has nothing to do with it.
you basically divided the whole sport into two categories...black and white...where do all the hispanics go? the asians? etc. etc. etc. or do we just all bunch them into the white category?
and even so i disagree.
race has nothing to do with speed, power, strength, etc.
everyone's body at birth is the same (relatively speaking) what you do with it is up to you as far as getting in tip top shape goes.
sure some people are naturally faster than others or naturally stronger but the race factor has little to do with it.
floyd and roy arent fast because they're black...
and pavlik isnt tough because he's white.
What about Calzaghe, Haugen, Loughran, Maxim, Sturm, DeWitt?
that is bad reasoning its like claiming asians arent generally shorter than caucasians by saying Hong Man Choi is very tall
I honestly believe that black people having longer limbs is a factor to, i mean a generous reach in Boxing is pretty important. Have you seen how long Mike McCallum, Roger Mayweather's arms were ?
generally speaking of course you cant judge it individually when its about race thats invalid
but most of the fastest boxers of all time are black: roy jones, meldrick taylor, floyd patterson, muhammad ali
hardest punchers: george foreman, max baer, julian jackson, jack dempsey
toughest boxers: joe grim, battling nelson, arturo gatti, rocky marciano
this is where the flaw of the discussion.
boxing and other individual contact sport cannot be generalized with such things like ethnicity/nationality.
its the other way around, individual dissection of a fighter, to find weaknesses and strength to win over him. (studying your opponents previous fight for example)
for a while mexicans said JMM wasn't a real mexican cause he boxes and don't brawl :lol1:
Exactly.
Most European fighters fight with a short stance to maximize their long range game, but that leaves their head up in the air when they are trying to Box making them easier to hit.
American fighters, particularly slick fighters have a wider stance where their head is not up in the air making it easier to slip punches, bend from the knees and pivot away from punches etc. Its also good for generating maximum power.
Its not but i think Black fighters like to look good when they win not just win and look bad. I think each race has its own ideals of how they should fight.
Black people expect to see a slick Black fighter and Mexican's expect a tough rugged give one to take one etc etc.

to be fair...most white colored people do nothing but come foward with no defense.....not all..just the dumb ones
Black people are more gifted athletically imo, but they also Box more intelligent than white fighters. White fighters for some reason seem to think Boxing is about trying to be aggressive as possible regardless whether you leave yourself open or not.
Boxing is about who is smarter not who has bigger cajones, thats why Hatton got blasted by Mayweather, Floyd fights smart and Hatton fights wrecklessly but i dont think many of us would argue that Hatton is not tougher.

what about caucasians? -------or are you a racist????
I notice a particular trend in caucasians physical ability. Most of the suscessfull caucasians primary physical ability has been pounching power

I believe everybody has a chance to exceed any physical ability upon proper training. However I notice a trend in boxing physical ability and race / nationality.
Blacks: speed, footwork, barely gets bruise or cut
Asian: Speed, footwork, resistance
Mexican: resistance, Heart
Colombian: Punching Power
Panamanian: Punching Power, Chin
Argentineans: Chin
