How will he all of a sudden become "overrated" from losing?
Will it undo every past accomplishment? No...
There is too much stigma attatched to Mayweather's '0' - if he loses it he loses it; it's not the end of the world. Marquez is a brilliant fighter and has as good a shot as just about anyone at beating Floyd. If Floyd is to lose I'm sure there'll be a rematch first and foremost, and then he'll carry on with what's left of his career
were talking about defeat, not the mental pressure he goes thru before fights. and to answer your question, he doesnt fight guys that he thinks could beat him. he could have fought mosley in his comeback and yet he picked a counter punching lightweight :lol1:
Come on now... he has been away 2 years, I don't expect him to jump straight in there with Mosley, Cotto or Pacquiao... whether Floyd calls it a tune-up or not, I still don't expect him too.
Floyd fought the best as much as he could at 140 and below... 130 he did, 135 he did, and 140... he was dangerous so a lot of guys dodged him... 154 he only fought DLH but if you look at his fight night weight he has no business being there anyway... as I have said before... the only real weight you can look at Floyd and say he could of done a bit more would be WW... which I agree, I would love to see him fight Cotto or Mosley or even both, I am more into a Pacquiao fight though to be fair.
As for what you said, who knows how he would react... maybe he could comeback stronger from it... I mean in the Olympics when he lost the fight for the silver medal (supposedly robbed, but I haven't seen it so can't comment), he made sure he started to work even harder so it wouldn't happen again... so he kinda had that in the Olympics, so maybe if he was to lose in the pros he would go the same way about it... I could be wrong though, its just a thought I guess.
I get what you mean though, he is so proud of his undefeated record that there is a chance that he might find it hard to get over.
lmao, what makes you believe that? the guy is mentally the strongest fighter in the game.

Floyd is not going to lose. At least not to JMM.
Floyd did not come back to lose.
If Floyd loses, it means he had money problems which he denies.
We will soon see wont we.
I say that not only does he not lose, I say he stops Marquez.
will you consider pbf the most overrated fighter this decade??? just asking...
Nah, he aint overrated... it is common knowledge that Floyd is a very talent fighter with loads of skills... and he has had a layoff, but if Floyd loses, some people will blame it on the layoff... some people will just try to call Floyd overrated and a bum.
Truth is, if Floyd loses... this site will be dead for nearly 2 weeks, seriously.
how could one loss make the most over rated fighter of the decade???
thats just flaming... and ludicrous
im pullin for JMM bigtime, but im not being an ass and taking floyd's accomplishments away from him
ricky hatton was undefeated before he was beaten by 2 best p4p king and now they consider him hypejob.
hey i'm just asking don't be sensitive, you will expect a lot of flaming here if jmm can pull off the upset
NO, Floyd proved himself and has already a great resume. A loss at the point would mean he missed his comeback and picked on the wrong guy.
SRL, SRR, Ali they all lost. The diff between them and Floyd is that Floyd for some reason started to pick easier fights and avoid the logical competition.
