I get it, floyd and his father have a shitty relationship, you told me that the last 2 episodes. Just film floyd talking shit about marquez and it'll be more entertaining
I can tell you exactly how the series is gonna end... It's gonna film some run down ghetto in mexico, and then some flashy ass **** in vegas, and the commentator is gonna say "2 warriors from different cultures, and lifestyles, will shed those differences apart in the ring September 19th." and then it will film mayweather/marquez hitting pads or a speed bag, just like every other ****ing ending.
It's only the first episode. There's supposed to be three more?
The shows are for the fans AND also for those who just started watching boxing and have an interest.
HBO is #1, Numero 1.
I actually enjoyed it, and I dont really bother watching most the time.
I wish they would show more of their training than anything else, because thats real hard to find in such great quality as HBO has, but I clearly understand why they show the story elements.
I believe they show the personal stuff since it helps build a personal connection with the fighters. The same reason that your friends who might not even be fights fans would attend a match of yours, because they know you and want to support you.
I also like watching anything that has to do with boxing, but I guess I was expecting something different. I think it was ok, but a little bs in there. I will try to catch the next one, but If i miss it, it wouldn't matter to me much.
not enough boxing shown. too much side stories & personal crap. show them sparring, show clips of past fights (this is hbo, their catalog is huge) i dont know why they dont show past marquez & undefeated wanskta footage. have people analyze the match up, talk about their keys to victory, advantages & disadvantages of each fighter, their physical dimensions, they go in depth in the wrong direction.
we dont care about them feeding the homeless or what their parents have to say. This is a boxing preview show, not a fvcking sitcom.
Good post.
Pr crap and damage control.
It's not for you, it's for the casual fan and I've heard it's one of the best sports related shows on tv.
People underestimate the power of this shows especially when you're a fan of the sport already, Like you said its for the casual fan.
I have never taken to UFC or MMA but they show the countdown of the Couture/Noueigaaaaaa on friday and i had to watch it live including a brazilian fighter called silva, They countdown sold to me and i was intrigued by what would happen on fight night which made me watch it and i promise you i have never seen a UFC/MMA fight live before but just hearing Noueigaaaa and Silva's story especially silva how is father never thought he would be anything go to me.

its good but i would say hard knocks is definetly better
The best part about the first two 24/7's floyd was in was him at the media coverages when he was in oscar or ricky hattons face talking shit, or when he was flipping off the british crowd and stuff.
Without footage of floyd doing those things the show is worthless imo.
JMM isnt an interesting character, the only thing they are gonna talk about with him is how he fought manny 3 times and almost beat him, how he grew up in shitty mexico and how he is a "mexican warrior".
Floyd needs to spice things up to make this show worth it
they need to show them training and sparring more
and do a 24/7 after the fight, to see how they deal with a lose or win
Good Idea. It will promote them after the win or loss. Compelling for me.
The only thing i enjoy about these shows is the footage training and the dissing of the other guy which is usually the case with floyd..
Bar that there way to over the top.....
